Senior Director, New Product Planning

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute commercial assessment activities for pipeline assets, business development opportunities, and the anemia market (market sizing, competitive evaluations, opportunity assessments, commercial risk analyses)
  • Maintain disease area and competitive intelligence to identify market trends, unmet needs, and emerging threats/opportunities
  • Identify knowledge gaps and create plans to address them via KOL engagement and market research
  • Serve as commercial representative on cross‑functional program teams; provide strategic input on target product profiles, clinical development, regulatory, and commercialization strategies
  • Partner with Clinical Development and Medical Affairs on positioning, value proposition, evidence generation priorities, patient identification, and patient advocacy
  • Communicate requirements for market access, reimbursement, and differentiation for successful commercialization
  • Inform forecast assumptions for financial models
  • Partner with Business Development and Corporate Strategy on external innovation evaluation and diligence activities (as applicable)
  • Manage external vendors/consultants to deliver high‑quality work within scope, budget, and timelines

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred (MBA, PharmD, PhD, MPH, or equivalent)
  • 10+ years in pharmaceutical/biotech; 8+ years in new product planning, commercial strategy, and brand management
  • Strong understanding of product development, commercialization, market access, and competitive strategy
  • Ability to influence without authority and operate in cross‑functional teams

Preferred

  • Experience in nephrology, rare disease, or specialty therapeutics
  • Ability to synthesize complex clinical and market information into actionable recommendations
  • Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills
  • Collaborative, proactive, adaptable; strong project management
  • Ability to travel up to 15%

Benefits/Compensation

  • Targeted base salary: $256,730–$317,138 USD
