Principal Activities And Responsibilities

Lead and manage multiple proposal and applications engineering efforts.

Directly communicate with the customers’ technical team to define product specifications and to clearly define and outline the scope of work.

Prepare technical and commercial proposals for mission-critical parts and complex systems (e.g., Pneumatic valve, integrated fluid control systems, kinetic switches).

Collaborate with sales, program management, finance, and engineering to define scope, pricing, and delivery timelines.

Serves as the primary point of contact with the program’s customer and is responsible for the negotiation of contract changes related to scope.

Review customer specifications and RFQs to ensure compliance and competitiveness.

Develop application-specific solutions and system architectures.

Present proposals to internal stakeholders and customers.

Maintain proposal templates, costing tools, and technical documentation.

Track proposal success rates and implement continuous improvement strategies.

Maintain NPI stage gate process control, metrics, and adherence.

Candidate Requirements
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Technical product knowledge (valves, regulators, solenoids, switches etc.)

Understanding of Requirements Management, including change configuration management, traceability, validation and verification and scope management

Skilled at analyzing & interpreting complex policies, contractual language, and financial reports.

Adapts to changing conditions; demonstrates persistence and overcomes obstacles.

Demonstrated track record of sales success, with the ability to influence and secure new business

Strong ability to thrive under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.

Proven track record of accomplishments in technical / design to spec sales and BD in the Aerospace & Defense market

Proven ability to identify market trends and technology shifts, and develop and execute successful product plans and roadmaps

Strong Management and Organization skills, including the ability to prioritize, balance, and manage multiple business development efforts

Demonstrated experience with NPI Phase Gate processes

High ethical standards. Models and supports the organization’s goals and values

Ability to communicate effectively across mediums, audiences, and situations

Post Sales Technical Product Support

Energetic, self-starter with ability to drive results

Strong analytical skills, critical thinking skills, and attention to detail

Demonstrated analytical ability with partial or ambiguous information

Proficiency with MS tools and advanced Excel

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Mechanical Engineering

10+ years’ relevant technical experience.

10+ years’ technical customer service experience in manufacturing support.

Experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry is highly desired.

Demonstrated product line management, including lifecycle management of products, is a plus

Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.
