Weekday Morning Anchor Job at RateMyStation in Brooklyn

News is looking for a high-performing journalist to join our trendy morning news team. This person will anchor morning news on a variety of platforms, transition between having a morning vibe and being trustworthy and serious when the situation calls for it, and be willing to get off the desk to find stories across Central Illinois.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Anchor newscasts on TV and digital platforms

Compellingly deliver news stories, but also have morning vibes

Interact with other team members on-air

Bring unique story ideas to editorial meetings

Curate compelling stories for air

Work with producers to build newscasts and fill in when necessary

Use social media to tell stories, break news, and connect with the community

Build sources and contacts in the community

Work with reporters, photographers, and editors to tell stories, share ideas, and enhance teamwork

Qualifications/Requirements:

Do you have 1 to 2 years of anchoring experience?

Do you have 2 to 3 years of newsroom experience?

This is not an entry-level position.

Qualification

1 to 2 years prior anchoring experience or 2 to 3 years prior reporting experience.

Energy, charisma, positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a dynamic personality

Superior news judgment

Ability to manage high stress situations

Self-starter with strong story-telling skills

Education level Bachelor's Degree
