Enterprise Electrical is seeking an entry-level VDC BIM Designer to support the development and coordination of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) deliverables for commercial, industrial, and mission-critical electrical construction projects. Working under direct supervision, this role assists with producing 3D models, layout drawings, shop drawings, and construction documentation using BIM and CAD software platforms. The VDC BIM Designer will learn company drafting standards, electrical systems coordination, and model management processes while supporting project teams in maintaining accurate and organized design documentation. About The Role

Working under direct supervision, this role assists with producing 3D models, layout drawings, shop drawings, and construction documentation using BIM and CAD software platforms. The VDC BIM Designer will learn company drafting standards, electrical systems coordination, and model management processes while supporting project teams in maintaining accurate and organized design documentation. Key Responsibilities
Assist in developing BIM and CAD models for electrical systems on commercial, industrial, and mission-critical construction projects
Produce basic layout drawings, shop drawings, and installation documentation under supervision
Support the preparation and maintenance of 2D and 3D electrical drawings using Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and related software platforms
Update models and drawings based on redlines, field markups, RFIs, and project revisions
Maintain organized project files, drawing logs, and document control standards
Assist with clash detection reviews and coordination activities with internal teams and other trades
Coordinate with Project Managers, field leadership, prefabrication teams, and senior BIM personnel to support project deliverables
Support prefabrication and installation planning through accurate model development
Review drawings and specifications to identify inconsistencies or missing information and elevate concerns appropriately
Follow company BIM standards, drafting procedures, and quality control processes
Participate in project coordination meetings and assist with documenting updates and revisions
Develop foundational knowledge of electrical construction methods, systems, and BIM coordination workflows
Maintain responsiveness to project schedules and deadlines while supporting multiple assignments
Comply with all company safety policies, procedures, and client-specific requirements
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned in support of departmental and operational needs
Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience
Associate's degree or technical certification in CAD, Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience
0-2 years of CAD/BIM drafting or modeling experience in construction, engineering, or electrical environments
Basic proficiency with AutoCAD and exposure to Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, or similar BIM/CAD software platforms
Basic understanding of BIM and CAD principles within commercial and industrial construction environments
Fundamental knowledge of electrical systems, construction drawings, blueprints, and drafting standards
Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents with guidance
Understanding of basic modeling, drawing production, and document control processes
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work
Ability to follow established BIM standards, workflows, and company procedures
Effective organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage assigned tasks and deadlines
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively with project teams, field personnel, and other departments
Basic problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and elevate issues appropriately
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and standard business software applications
Willingness to learn electrical construction methods, coordination processes, and industry standards
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, construction-focused, and project-driven environment
Ability to read construction drawings and blueprints
Valid driver's license required
Preferred Qualifications
Exposure to electrical systems or the electrical construction environment
Internship or hands-on drafting experience
Familiarity with prefabrication concepts
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification, or ability to obtain certification within a specified timeframe
CPR/First Aid certification
Autodesk AutoCAD Certification or similar certification
Additional experience with Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, or BIM software platforms
Leadership & Team Support
Collaborate with Project Managers, field leadership, prefabrication teams, senior BIM personnel, engineers, subcontractors, and internal operational personnel
Support project teams with BIM coordination, documentation, and project deliverables as directed
Participate in project coordination meetings and assist with documenting updates and revisionsMaintain effective communication and collaboration across project teams and departments
Support departmental and operational needs as assigned
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities
Work Environment
Combination of office and field work
Primarily works in an office environment with frequent use of computers, monitors, and BIM/CAD software for extended periods
May occasionally visit active construction sites, prefabrication facilities, or customer locations to support project coordination and field verification activities
Jobsite visits may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, elevated noise levels, dust, uneven terrain, and active construction operations
Personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety glasses, high-visibility vests, gloves, safety footwear, and fall protection equipment, may be required during site visits
Fast-paced, deadline-driven construction environment requiring coordination with multiple departments and project teams
May require occasional early morning, evening, weekend, or extended hours to support project schedules and deadlines
Full-time position with schedules that may vary based on project demands, operational needs, and business priorities
Primarily a day-shift role, with start and end times subject to adjustment based on project requirements
Overtime, weekend, or after-hours work may be required as needed
Occasional to moderate travel may be required based on project needs, including travel to jobsites, fabrication facilities, and other company locations
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and use hands to handle or operate equipment and tools
May occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 25-50 pounds
Must be able to communicate effectively, including speaking, hearing, and exchanging information
Must have sufficient visual acuity to read documents, drawings, and computer screens
May be required to climb stairs or ladders, navigate uneven terrain, and work in various environmental conditions when visiting jobsites
