Agency Public relations experience, with a focus on health & wellness. Proven healthcare/pharmaceutical communications experience, including experience supporting FDA approvals, regulatory milestones, and product communications; strong relationships with health, medical, and trade media; and a track record of securing impactful coverage and delivering successful client programs. The ideal Account Supervisor is highly detail-oriented, organized, and proactive, with a can-do attitude, strong project management skills, and the ability to build trusted client relationships while mentoring junior team members and driving day-to-day account execution.

About the Role:
The Account Supervisor works to deliver the best-quality work across client program development, implementation and reporting, meeting and exceeding campaign KPIs, and makes a positive contribution to identifying and securing new business for the agency. As an Account Supervisor, you will work as part of a dynamic, forward-thinking team navigating all areas of the communications realm—including but not limited to strategy (be it earned and influencer/social or integrated), planning, executing media relations, influencer marketing and relations, reporting and project management.
The AS is a strategic thinker, creative contributor, and media driver across five or six accounts.
You will create ideas and processes, build excellent client rapport and ensure client satisfaction. You will have a full understanding of client needs to apply project management, programming, staff leadership and management skills to assignments. You will help lead junior staff and take responsibility for the team’s success on assigned projects. As a team mentor, you also will help the team improve their writing competencies.

Key Responsibilities:
Media & Influencer Relations
Develop and cultivate a wide range of relationships across mainstream and specialist media relevant to the client base, creating opportunities to expand contacts whenever possible
Cultivate strong relationships with social influencers relevant to the client base, continually expanding depth and breadth of contacts
Manage media outreach to secure consistent coverage in media outlets across print, online and broadcast
Oversee the development of editorial calendars; manage outreach; delegate assignments
Develop creative pitch angles and identify appropriate media outlets
Develop media materials, including media releases, pitches, bylines, etc.
Manage client approval process and distribution of communications to media
Manage influencer relations campaigns, including the identification of relevant influencers, program management and reporting
Ensure that pitching is timely, targeted and proactively followed up on to achieve agreed-upon KPIs, cultivating a positive client presence
Creativity
Understand client brand category and landscape in order to deliver creative ideas that resonate with target audiences
Proactively share creative work that inspires new thinking in the agency
Actively participate in team brainstorms
Take a creative approach to problem‑solving and strategy
Account Management
Act as a key point of contact for client; lead daily client communications; attend regular in-person meetings; field requests
Display strong writing, editing, listening and verbal communications skills

Have a successful track record of developing integrated public relations programs
Finalize client call agendas and participate in regular status calls; assign sections to appropriate team members
Review/edit monthly activity and media coverage reports developed by junior staff and provide to clients
Ensure that client timelines/plans are being implemented and followed
Identify and address issues before they become problems with clients and managers
Help set realistic expectations with clients
Staff / Management & Mentoring
Provide regular updates to managers on account and team progress to help inform decisions; flag problems
Create to-do lists for the team based on client initiatives
Organize team meetings (create agenda, etc.)
Help train new junior employees (database development, logging time, etc.)
Act as a sounding board for junior staff; address any issues or concerns
Hold team accountable for meeting deadlines and hitting media coverage goals
Event Management
Plan and oversee the implementation of events, including research, venue, catering, talent selection and management, theming and decoration, speaker briefs, and speech‑writing
Ensure that guest lists, invitations and RSVPs are effectively managed
Provide quality control, issues management and hands‑on support at events
Professionally interact with clients, stakeholders and guests
Agency Contributions
Assist VP and director with input for new‑business proposals, and attend new‑business meetings Build to-do lists for the team based on client initiatives
Flag potential new‑business opportunities with leadership as identified (e.g., via a client partner or trade show)
Flag industry developments or changes that impact the agency and our clients
Proactively recommend additional projects to existing clients
Play a proactive role in creating a positive agency culture that the industry’s best talent want to be part of
Use networks and networking opportunities to uncover new business opportunities, and bring them to the senior management team

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in communications, liberal arts, business or marketing
Experience: Four to Six years of PR agency experience
Technical: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
The compensation range for this role is: $85,000 – $95,000 annually, DOE
