Communications Manager

We are partnering with a highly regarded national law firm to identify a

Communications Manager

to join its Marketing & Business Development organization. This is a visible role for an experienced communications professional who enjoys working closely with attorneys and business leaders to elevate brand awareness, thought leadership, and media presence.
The Communications Manager will help lead the firm’s external communications and PR strategy, partnering with attorneys, practice leaders, and business development professionals on media relations, thought leadership, strategic campaigns, social media, awards and rankings, and other profile-raising initiatives. The role will also oversee relationships with outside PR agencies and help identify opportunities to strengthen the visibility of the firm, its practices, and individual attorneys.
This position sits within an established marketing & business developmentteam and will lead a small Communications team with three direct reports. Prior management experience is preferred, but the firm is open to a strong next-step candidate with significant PR/communications experience who is ready to take on formal team leadership.
Ideal Background:

6+ years of PR, communications, or related experience
Legal industry or other sophisticated professional services experience strongly preferred
Strong media relations, writing, editing, and strategic communications skills
Experience developing thought leadership and integrated communications campaigns
Ability to advise and work effectively with senior professionals and firm leadership
Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
Prior management experience preferred, but not required
Some travel is expected, currently anticipated to be approximately quarterly.
Compensation:

$127,487–$175,294
