UX/UI Designer & Front-End Web Developer (Onsite in Durham, NC)
We are seeking a UX/UI Designer & Front-End Web Developer to enhance the look, feel, and performance of a growing digital presence. This is a hybrid design-and-development role focused on improving existing user experiences, creating new landing pages and conversion funnels, and bringing designs to life through front-end development.
The ideal candidate combines exceptional design instincts with strong technical skills. You'll play a key role in creating intuitive, high-converting user experiences while collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize digital performance.
Key Responsibilities
Design, enhance, and optimize landing pages, user journeys, and digital experiences with a focus on usability, engagement, and conversion.
Create wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and production-ready designs.
Translate designs into clean, responsive front-end code using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Continuously improve site experiences by implementing enhancements based on testing, analytics, and user insights.
Ensure a seamless user experience across all devices, following a mobile-first design approach.
Maintain high standards of UX/UI quality, visual consistency, accessibility, and responsiveness.
Prototype and iterate quickly while balancing speed, quality, and business objectives.
Identify and resolve design, usability, and functionality issues before release.
Contribute to and maintain design systems, reusable components, and style guidelines.
Partner with marketing, product, e-commerce, and business stakeholders to support campaigns, launches, and ongoing initiatives.
Utilize modern AI-powered development tools to accelerate design-to-development workflows and improve productivity.
Required Qualifications
3+ years of experience designing and developing user experiences for websites, preferably in an ecommerce, digital marketing, or conversion-focused environment.
Strong portfolio showcasing modern visual design, interaction design, information hierarchy, and responsive web experiences.
Experience using AI-assisted tools to support design and front-end development workflows.
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript with the ability to independently implement and refine designs.
Strong understanding of responsive design principles and mobile-first development.
Knowledge of web technologies, browser behavior, performance optimization, and front-end best practices.
Experience with modern design tools such as Figma or comparable platforms.
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to delivering polished user experiences.
Analytical mindset with an interest in user behavior, optimization, and performance measurement.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting or owning conversion rate optimization (CRO) and A/B testing initiatives.
Familiarity with ecommerce platforms such as Shopify, Magento, BigCommerce, or similar solutions.
Experience working with analytics tools and using data to inform design decisions.
Understanding of accessibility standards, page speed optimization, and modern UX best practices.
Exposure to design systems and component-based development approaches.
