The Arbor Scientia Group is a promotional medical education and communication-training agency dedicated to serving clients in the healthcare industry worldwide. I. Position Summary
The Medical Writer I is responsible for creating content that is developed into promotional education and/or training assets for clients in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. These assets are created in many formats, including live/virtual presentations, videos, digital games, interactive eLearning modules, and print media. Content typically pertains to disease states and therapeutics. The Medical Writer I is responsible for content development from conception to completion and may work with other Medical Writers on various projects. This position requires frequent communication with clients and adherence to multiple simultaneous timelines. The Medical Writer I must have the ability to handle multiple projects efficiently within a collaborative team environment.

II. Responsibilities and Principal Duties
Creation of educational content for a wide range of promotional and/or training applications,

including:

Print media (manuscripts, white papers, booklets, pamphlets, newsletters, posters)

Assistance in the preparation of business development materials, including proposals and

presentations

Execution of all tasks supporting the duties listed above, including:

Conduct literature searches and data analysis

Reference all scientific statements

Exercise of sound scientific judgment

Generation of outlines and storyboards

Collaboration with the Multimedia department to create graphics and animations

Maintenance of strong liaison with all internal and external (client and vendor partner) parties

III. Job Demands and Expectations
The medical writer should:

Have a strong general knowledge in the medical sciences

Keep abreast of current developments in the medical sciences

Exhibit the ability and willingness to quickly expand their own knowledge base into unfamiliar

therapeutic areas

Take responsibility for and ownership of the scientific accuracy and integrity of all materials that

they develop

Be able to work well under pressure

Be able to accept criticism constructively, from multiple sources (ie, internally, editorially, and from

clients)

Maintain an objective and professional attitude at all times

Be self-motivated and have the ability to work well with minimal supervision

Possess excellent organizational skills and have a strong attention to detail

Have a results-driven work style, with a passion for achieving high levels of performance

Have the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment on a wide variety of projects, with

changeable deadlines and expectations

Excellent time management skills in order to meet all deadlines

IV. Qualifications and Requirements
A PhD is required. Excellent written and oral communication skills and attention to detail are essential. A great deal of creativity is also expected. The applicant must be proficient in Microsoft Office, with a focus in PowerPoint.

Travel to support project needs (advisory boards, capabilities presentations, etc.) will also be required from time to time.
