Position Summary
The UNM-Gallup Public Relations Department is seeking a motivated student employee with a flexible skillset to perform communications and marketing related duties with a focus on student engagement.

The employee, under the supervision of the Sr. Public Relations Specialist, will also perform office duties and other job-related duties as assigned.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Works on creative projects with a focus on student engagement, which may include:

Designing and updating flyers.

Formatting digital newsletters.

Writing stories.

Taking and editing photos.

Maintaining campus events calendar.

Creating social media content.

Creating and sharing video content.

Assists the Sr. Public Relations Specialist and Sr. Web Designer in brainstorming ideas for ways to engage the UNM-Gallup student population.

Prints and posts marketing and informational materials in appropriate physical locations around campus.

Maintains digital kiosk content.

Provides customer service at visitor center.

Provides support for campus events.

Performs office duties as needed, such as:

Greeting visitors.

Taking notes during meetings.

Answering phones and taking messages.

Scanning documents.

Running errands.

Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Good computer skills.

Good people skills.

Willingness to learn and practice new job-related skills (training provided).

Ability to meet deadlines.

Ability to complete brand training for The University of New Mexico.

Knowledge of, or interest in learning, the following:

Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.

Adobe Creative Suite programs such as Photoshop, Express, Acrobat, etc.

Cascade content management system for updating websites.

Social media content management.
