AbelCine, a premier provider of equipment and technology solutions for the broadcast, production, and new media industries, is seeking a detail-oriented Night Editor to support our video production team during evening hours. This hybrid role combines hands-on editing responsibilities with core assistant editor functions, helping ensure projects continue moving forward after the primary production team has wrapped for the day.

This opportunity is well-suited for an experienced Editor or Assistant Editor who brings strong technical expertise, exceptional organizational skills, and a collaborative approach to post‑production workflows. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, managing multiple projects and deadlines, implementing creative feedback, and proactively preparing projects and deliverables for the next day's production team.

Key Responsibilities

Implement producer and stakeholder feedback, update edits, and prepare review-ready cuts for approval and distribution

Execute editorial revisions including trims, restructuring sequences, graphic and text updates, audio adjustments, and versioning requests

Manage active post‑production projects during evening hours, ensuring projects remain on schedule and editorial momentum continues

Perform audio cleanup, dialogue enhancement, leveling, and basic audio mixing for video and podcast content

Export, quality check, caption, and prepare content for stakeholder review and final delivery

Create multiple versions of content for different platforms, audiences, aspect ratios, and delivery specifications

Edit short‑form content, social media videos, promotional assets, and other digital content

Create social‑first content optimized for platforms including LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and X

Ingest, organize, sync, and prepare footage and media for editorial workflows

Create stringouts, selects reels, interview assemblies, rough timelines, and other editorial support materials

Work within Adobe Premiere Productions and collaborative shared‑project environments while maintaining organized workflows and project structures

Build and maintain project structures, media organization systems, markers, metadata, logs, and documentation

Prepare timelines, media, and project files for color grading, audio finishing, graphics, and other downstream post‑production workflows

Reintegrate color‑corrected media, audio mixes, graphics, and finishing elements into edit timelines while maintaining project integrity and quality control

Manage media including relinking, consolidating, transcoding, archiving, and troubleshooting project files

Organize and maintain assets within Media Asset Management (MAM) systems

Utilize Frame.io and similar review platforms to manage feedback, approvals, and version control

Maintain project documentation, delivery trackers, and post‑production records

Identify and troubleshoot technical or editorial issues independently and proactively prepare projects for the following day's production team

Collaborate with producers, editors, and creative teams to ensure edits and deliverables remain on track

Ensure all deliverables meet brand standards, technical specifications, and quality expectations

Requirements for a successful candidate:

2–5 years of professional experience in video editing, assistant editing, podcast production, or a similar post‑production environment

Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud applications

Experience editing social media content, promotional videos, podcasts, interviews, and short‑form digital content

Experience implementing editorial feedback and managing fast‑turnaround revision cycles

Strong understanding of audio cleanup, dialogue enhancement, leveling, and basic mixing

Experience working within Adobe Premiere Productions and collaborative multi‑editor workflows

Strong organizational skills and experience managing large media libraries and complex project structures

Experience syncing footage, creating stringouts and selects, organizing projects, and supporting editorial teams

Familiarity with Frame.io or similar review and approval platforms

Familiarity with Media Asset Management (MAM) systems; experience with IPV Curator, Dalet, or similar platforms is a plus

Understanding of social media specifications, platform formatting requirements, captioning workflows, codecs, and export settings

Exceptional attention to detail and a strong quality‑control mindset

Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and respond quickly to time‑sensitive requests

Comfortable serving as the primary evening editorial resource with limited supervision

Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to feedback

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience editing podcasts, interview‑driven content, recurring episodic programming, or long‑form discussion content

Experience creating promotional clips and social media derivatives from long‑form video and podcast content

Familiarity with Adobe Audition and professional audio post‑production workflows

Experience with audio tools such as iZotope RX, Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Descript, Riverside, Audiate, or similar platforms

Familiarity with DaVinci Resolve, including color workflow preparation and conforming

Experience with compositing, green screen keying, rotoscoping, or basic visual effects workflows

Basic After Effects and motion graphics experience

Experience supporting corporate, branded content, marketing, media, or agency production teams

Understanding of multi‑platform delivery requirements, including vertical, square, widescreen, and social‑first formats

Experience working in fast‑paced, deadline‑driven production environments

Physical Effort:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a computer

Dexterity for using editing tools, software, and production equipment

Ability to distinguish colors, fonts, images, and visual details

Ability to concentrate on detailed tasks for extended periods

Occasional lifting of light equipment, such as monitors or production accessories

Standing or walking for short periods, such as during meetings or production activities

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Location: New York, NY

Compensation Range: $425 - $475per day
