News Production Assistant Job at Sinclair Inc in Bristol

WCYB is looking for a motivated and dependable Production Assistant to join our team and help bring our newscasts to life. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in gaining hands-on experience in television news and learning multiple aspects of live production.
As a Production Assistant, you'll work closely with our news and production teams to prepare and execute daily newscasts across broadcast and digital platforms.
Responsibilities include: Assist with the preparation and production of morning, evening, and weekend newscasts
Operate studio equipment, including cameras, audio, and graphics systems
Prepare and manage on-air graphics and fonts for newscasts
Assist with studio, set, and lighting preparation
Maintain a clean, organized, and broadcast-ready studio
Assist with guest coordination and studio needs
Edit video for newscasts, web stories, and other digital platforms
Write and prepare stories for daily newscasts and digital platforms
Conduct research and gather information for news stories
Assist with video and tape editing as needed
Support the production team during live broadcasts
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications: No previous television experience is required; training will be provided
Education, coursework, or internship experience in television, broadcasting, communications, media production, or a related field is preferred
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Willingness to learn multiple production roles and work as part of a team
Dependable, organized, and able to adapt quickly during live productions
Ability to lift and carry 25-50 pounds on a regular basis
Flexibility to work varying schedules, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

The base hourly compensation range for this role is $16.50 to $18.77. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
