Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, proactive

Public Relations Consultant

for a 3-to-6-month contract to drive media strategy, campaign management, and external communications for our financial services and debt solutions brands.
In this role, you will lead high-impact PR campaigns, develop compelling content, and leverage your existing roster of financial, consumer, and business media contacts to secure high-value placements. You will elevate our thought leadership presence, craft press releases, and execute digital PR strategies that align with our marketing and brand objectives.
Key Responsibilities

Campaign Management:

Plan, execute, and monitor end-to-end PR campaigns tailored to financial education, debt relief, and personal finance solutions.
Media Relations & Pitching:

Leverage relationships with national, regional, and industry journalists, editors, and producers to secure broadcast, print, and top-tier digital media coverage.
Thought Leadership:

Brainstorm, outline, and pitch innovative thought leadership concepts, op-eds, survey insights, and expert commentary for senior executives.
Content Creation:

Draft press releases, media advisories, pitch letters, talking points, and Q&A briefs that comply with AP style standards.
Digital PR Strategy:

Integrate digital PR tactics (SEO-driven outreach, online news distribution, link building, and social amplification) into broader media campaigns.
PR Platform Management:

Utilize platforms like Muck Rack and Qwoted to monitor journalist requests, build media lists, track coverage, and manage expert commentary opportunities.
Reporting & Analytics:

Track, measure, and report on PR campaign performance, media sentiment, and reach metrics monthly.
Qualifications & Requirements

Experience:

3-5 years of dedicated experience in public relations, agency or in-house, preferably within

financial services, personal finance, debt management, or consumer fintech .
PR Tools Mastery:

Required proficiency in Muck Rack and Qwoted

for media intelligence, pitching, and journalist engagement.
Media Contacts:

An established network of active journalists, finance columnists, and media contacts in business, consumer finance, and lifestyle sectors.
Writing Excellence:

Flawless writing and editing skills. Mastery of AP style, broadcast copy, and executive interview prep materials.
Track Record:

Proven ability to manage multi-faceted campaigns from concept to execution and consistently secure top-tier earned media placements.
Digital PR Savvy:

Understanding of how PR intersects with LLMs. AEO, digital content, and brand authority building.
