The Role
As a Senior Medical Writer focused on publications, you'll lead the development of manuscripts, abstracts, and posters across a broad range of therapeutic areas, working closely with authors, KOLs, and cross-functional teams to bring scientific data to life clearly and accurately. You'll take ownership of projects from planning through submission, mentor junior writers, and serve as a scientific thought partner to both clients and internal teams.
What You'll Do
- Lead the writing and development of publications (manuscripts, abstracts, posters) across therapeutic areas
- Partner directly with authors and KOLs to ensure scientific accuracy and alignment with target journals
- Manage timelines and deliverables across multiple concurrent projects
- Mentor and provide scientific/editorial guidance to junior writers
- Stay current on relevant clinical literature and publication guidelines (GPP, ICMJE)
What They're Looking For
- Advanced degree in a life sciences field (PhD, PharmD, or equivalent preferred)
- Several years of medical writing experience in publications within a MedComms agency setting
- Strong track record across varied therapeutic areas
- Excellent scientific judgment, writing clarity, and project ownership
