Job Summary
The University of Colorado Law School welcomes applications for aMarketing and Communications Specialist! This role is responsiblefor supporting internal and external communications of the LawSchool to sustain and enhance the school’s reputation forworld-class education, scholarship and service. This positionassists in the execution of a comprehensive marketingcommunications strategy that regionally and nationally promotesColorado Law's faculty, staff, students, centers, and programs.This position ensures all marketing and communications activitiesof the law school are high-quality, consistent, and aligned withcentral messaging priorities and branding standards.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Content Creation:

Write, edit, distribute and track content for variousaudiences, including news stories, feature articles, profiles,website content, emails, e-newsletters (such as the monthly alumninewsletter Law Points), annual reports, talking points and classnotes.

Assist with writing, editing, planning and logistics for theannual Amicus alumni magazine.

Update the Colorado Law website, including the creation of newwebpages and editing existing content.

Provide communications support for major events such aslectures, conferences, alumni programs, commencement, orientationand signature law school events.

Assist Director of Marketing and Communications in thedevelopment and coordination of print communications projectsincluding brochures, event flyers, the admissions viewbook,admitted students' collateral, event postcards and programs, andthought-leader collateral.

Find opportunities to tell compelling stories in creative waysacross channels and audiences that exemplify Colorado Law’s missionand strategic direction.

Ensure all content created conforms to university brandguidelines and publishing policies, editorial style, organization,and appropriateness.

Coordinate with Marketing and Communications Director andStrategic Relations and Communications to submit news items toappropriate outlets and pitch story ideas for submission to newsoutlets.

Design, Photography, and Digital Communications:

Create graphics for social media posts, event flyers, emailnewsletters, and web content, ensuring digital content isconsistent and aligned with university brand guidelines.

Manage the design and deployment of digital posters on lawschool display systems.

Assist with managing the law school’s online calendar.

Photograph events in the law school community and coordinatewith freelance photographers for coverage of higher-profile events.Identify subjects and locations, coordinate shot lists and organizephoto assets.

Connect with Strategic Relations and Communications and campuscommunicators as necessary, attending communications meetings andtrainings.

Assist the director on additional projects as needed.

Supervise and guide a student employee.

Social Media:

Monitor social media strategies to create engaging content forall social media platforms.

Develop and implement a content calendar to schedule and trackposts.

Be the primary manager of social media channels to provideaccurate and timely outreach and information to prospectivestudents, alumni, donors, and other friends and externalaudiences.

Track metrics to increase social media reach andengagement.

Assist with video ideation, storyboarding, and interviewing, asneeded.

What You Should Know

This role has an anticipated work schedule of Monday – Fridayduring regular business hours. Some evening and weekend hours maybe required.

This position has the ability to work in a hybrid workmodality, with 3 days a week required to be in person during theacademic year, and 2 days per week required to be in person duringthe summer.

What We Can Offer

The salary range for this position is $58,200 – $67,500annually, depending on qualifications. Relocation assistance isavailable within department guidelines.

What We Require

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, PublicRelations, English, Business or similar field. Related professionalwork experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis for thedegree.

One year of related marketing and communicationsexperience.

What You Will Need

Sound project management skills and ability to plan andorganize multiple projects with established budgets, deliverables,and timelines.

Knowledge of a wide range of communications practices andtactics including research, writing, editing, integrated digitalcommunications, social media strategy, and public relations.

Exceptional oral communication skills.

Highly collaborative teammate and fast learner.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to dive into projects (even if they require acquisitionof new skills).
