Producing year-round from our home in Chelsea, Irish Rep operates a 148-seat Mainstage, a 60-seat Studio Theatre, rehearsal and event space, and administrative offices.

The Opportunity
Irish Repertory Theatre seeks an experienced, organized, and collaborative marketing professional to join our team as Assistant Director of Marketing. Working closely with the Director of Marketing & Art Director, the Assistant Director will help turn strategy into coordinated campaigns, clear workflows, and measurable results across productions, digital platforms, audience development, and institutional priorities.

We are looking for a well-rounded marketing professional and strong project manager who is comfortable with digital marketing, data, systems, and audience strategy, and who thrives in a collaborative, creative environment. The scope of the role will be shaped with the Director of Marketing & Art Director based on the department’s evolving priorities and the successful candidate’s strengths and experience.

The Role
Campaigns, Digital Marketing & Analytics

Help plan and execute integrated marketing campaigns across email, paid media, social media, print, publicity, partnerships, and outreach.

Manage campaign timelines, budgets, deliverables, and the departmental marketing calendar, coordinating workflows across departments.

Monitor ticket sales, audience behavior, and campaign performance and use data to guide recommendations and reporting.

Coordinate digital marketing activity and external partners, including Capacity Interactive, and support CRM strategy, segmentation, testing, and automated journeys.

Website, Email & Social Media

Maintain Irish Rep’s website in Craft CMS and coordinate with developers on updates, troubleshooting, and integrations.

Coordinate email planning, production, deployment, segmentation, and performance analysis.

Help manage the social media calendar and publishing schedule with the Marketing & Design Associate.

Stay current on digital platforms, tools, and best practices.

Audience Development & Institutional Initiatives

Partner with the Development Manager and Director of New Play & Audience Development on GreenSeats, coordinating Marketing communications, events, audience engagement, and the GreenSeats Ambassador Program.

Coordinate Marketing support for audience development, membership, fundraising and donor events, opening nights, and the Annual Gala.

Support partnerships, group sales, merchandise, and other earned-revenue initiatives as appropriate.

Team Coordination

Support designated areas of the Marketing & Design Associate’s work, helping monitor progress and provide feedback within priorities set by the Director.

Work with the Director on departmental workload, resources, and priorities, maintaining clear communication around progress and capacity.

The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:

Has 5+ years of marketing experience, including integrated campaigns and project management.

Is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.

Has strong digital marketing and analytical skills, with experience across CRM, email, paid media, social media, analytics, and website content management.

Is an excellent written communicator and confident editor of audience-facing copy.

Has experience working collaboratively across teams and with junior staff, freelancers, agencies, consultants, developers, or vendors.

Has sound judgment, is resourceful and curious, and knows when to move work forward independently and when to seek input.

Is willing to become an expert user of Spektrix, Dotdigital, and Craft CMS.

Prior experience with Spektrix, Dotdigital, or Craft CMS is preferred but not required. Experience in theatre, the arts, nonprofit, or cultural organizations is a plus, as is familiarity with GA4, Meta Business Suite, Google Ads, Figma, or Adobe Creative Suite.

Work Schedule
This position is based at Irish Rep in Chelsea, with regular in‑person collaboration. Some remote hours may be possible with approval of the Director of Marketing & Art Director.

Some evening and weekend work is required, including selected performances, opening nights, and audience events.
