Vital Theatre Company - NYC Season Stage Manager Submissions

Vital Theatre Company is seeking professional non-union stage managers over the age of 18 for shows in their season in New York City as well as stage managers for single day tours.

Pay:
Rehearsals: $20/hour
NYC Performances: $125 per performance
Tour Performances (Optional): $150 per performance

Dates:
Show #1:
Rehearsals start Tuesday September 22
Show Opens Sunday September 27
Shows: Sundays at 11:00am, currently through October
Show #2
Rehearsals start the week of September 21st (exact days/times TBD)
Show Opens Sunday October 4
Shows: Sundays at 1:30pm through October
NYC Performances:
Actors Temple Theatre, 339 W 47th St, New York, NY 10036
Tour Performances (optional):
Various Venues across the US

Performances Duties + Responsibilities

  • Manage and Supervise the Rehearsal Process
  • Work with the PSM on creating and distributing paperwork
  • Open and close the theater before and after each performance
  • Work with the FOH Manager to facilitate audience flow and show needs
  • Call the respective performance, including running the light board and sound board
  • Assist the Actors with Set-Up/Strike for Each Performance
  • Maintain and Keep a Call Script for the production
  • Support the artistic vision and values of Vital Theatre Company

Touring Performance Duties + Responsibilities Include

  • Assisting the PSM in production meetings
  • Creating itineraries
  • Assisting with load in/out
  • Communicating with technicians and house staff the day of the show to make sure tech and show run smoothly
  • Managing merchandise while on tour
  • Driving is a bonus

Qualifications

  • A working knowledge of all aspects of the theatre; technical and performance.
  • Great with children and able to interact with parents
  • Excellent communication skills; written, oral, and visual
  • Timely and well organized
  • Must be able to lift and move small set pieces.
  • Enjoyment in bringing the art of theatre to young audiences

Additional Notes

  • Knowledge of QLab and a valid US Driver's License is a plus.
  • A Passport is a plus for Touring
