Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Data Journalist specializing in AI & Automation will produce original, data-driven content by analyzing complex datasets, developing story ideas, and leveraging AI tools to enhance research and editorial workflows.
Key responsibilities

Develop original, data-driven story ideas and research credible data sources to support them
Coordinate with data analysts and freelance writers to turn research findings into clear editorial direction and manage multiple projects
Identify and implement AI and automation opportunities to streamline research, data analysis, and production workflows

Required qualifications

Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, data analytics, statistics, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent experience
1-3 years of experience in journalism, content creation, research, or data storytelling
Strong proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, including advanced functions and working with larger datasets
Familiarity with basic statistical analysis and data validation techniques
Interest in AI tools and automation, with experience in platforms like ChatGPT or similar being a plus
