ecom.jobs is hiring: Performance Video Editor in New York

ecom.jobs · New York, NY, USA · Remote ·

Job type:
Contract

Our client is a fast-growing DTC pet brand with hundreds of thousands of customers across North America. They're building a paid-creative engine around AI-generated video and need people who can direct the tools to make ads that convert, at volume.
This is not a brand film role and it's not a traditional editing role. Polish doesn't convert; hook, pacing, and message do. You'll generate and assemble video ads for Meta and TikTok using AI, fast, and built to perform.
What you'll do

Generate video ads with AI tools (Runway, Kling, Veo, Sora, HeyGen, ElevenLabs): hyper-realistic UGC-style, animated, product-led
Direct the tools with intent: prompt, iterate, control realism and style consistency across shots
Cut for the hook and the hold: stop the scroll in two seconds, keep them to the CTA
Ship variants at volume: a winning concept needs five hook variants, not five days
Assemble AI footage, real UGC, and product shots into finished ads in 9:16, 4:5, 1:1
Captions and sound that work sound-off and support pacing
Iterate on performance feedback: refine what's working, kill what isn't
What we're looking for

AI video generation is already your daily workflow, not a tool you tried once
2+ years making video ads for DTC or paid social; you know what a hook is and why it matters
A portfolio of ads built to perform, including AI-generated work
Comfortable in Premiere, CapCut, or DaVinci for assembly and finishing
Speed and volume: you can tell us how many ads you ship a week
US business hours, self-directed, moves across briefs without hand-holding
Who you're not

Your background is brand film, corporate, or event work
You need detailed direction for every cut
You'd rather make one perfect edit than twenty test-ready ones
AI video is something you're planning to learn
Setup

Long-term contractor role, remote anywhere in Latin America, room to grow as the creative engine scales.
