Social Media Manager
Position Overview
We seeking a Social Media Manager who will create content, manage and grow the social media accounts for The Lawfare Project and the #EndJewHatred movement.
We want someone with strong hands-on experience creating and managing social media content. You will create and edit content, design graphics, write copy, publish posts, manage our accounts, engage with our audiences, monitor trends, and use analytics to understand what is working.
The ideal candidate has experience personally managing large social media accounts, with 100,000+ followers, and can demonstrate that experience through a strong portfolio.
You should be comfortable taking a piece of raw footage from a rally, webinar, interview, or news appearance and turning it into compelling short-form content, as well as creating graphics, flyers, carousels, and other content from scratch.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation & Account Management
- Create, edit, and publish high-quality content across Instagram, X/Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and TikTok.
- Produce short-form video, Reels, Stories, graphics, carousels, and other social-first content.
- Edit raw footage from rallies, events, interviews, webinars, speeches, and news appearances into engaging short-form videos.
- Repurpose longer-form content into multiple pieces of content across platforms.
- Create graphics and promotional materials for rallies, events, webinars, campaigns, fundraising initiatives, and advocacy actions.
- Write compelling captions, headlines, calls to action, and other social copy.
- Maintain a consistent content calendar and ensure regular, high-volume publishing.
- Adapt content for the tone, format, and audience of each platform rather than simply cross-posting the same material everywhere.
- Create content quickly on breaking news, litigation developments, rallies, and other time-sensitive opportunities.
Community & Growth
- Actively manage comments, direct messages, mentions, tags, and other audience interactions across platforms.
- Engage with relevant influencers, journalists, organizations, activists, partners, and supporters to increase visibility and reach.
- Identify trends, conversations, and timely opportunities that can be turned into engaging content.
- Monitor how content performs and identify opportunities to improve reach, engagement, and follower growth.
Analytics & Optimization
- Monitor social media performance, including reach, engagement, follower growth, video performance, and link clicks.
- Use platform analytics to identify what is working and adjust content accordingly.
- Track conversions and other campaign goals using tools such as Meta analytics and Google Analytics.
- Provide regular performance reports and actionable recommendations for improving growth and engagement.
Tools & Skills
The ideal candidate is hands-on and proficient with the tools used to produce and manage social content, including:
- Canva for graphics, carousels, flyers, and other visual content
- CapCut or comparable video editing software
- ManyChat or other social automation tools
- Meta Business Suite / Meta Insights
- Google Analytics
- Linktree or comparable link-in-bio platforms
You should be able to learn new platforms and tools quickly and independently.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on experience managing social media accounts and creating content.
- Demonstrated experience personally managing a social media account with 100,000+ followers is strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to create compelling short-form video and social graphics.
- Strong writing, editing, and visual storytelling skills.
- Experience repurposing long-form content into short-form social content.
- Strong understanding of Instagram, X/Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
- Strong understanding of social media analytics and performance metrics.
- Ability to work independently, move quickly, and manage multiple accounts and priorities.
- Experience in nonprofit, advocacy, legal, political, media, or movement organizations is a plus, but not required.
Portfolio Required
Applications without a portfolio will not be considered. Please submit examples of work you personally created, including as many of the following as possible:
- Short-form videos/Reels/TikToks
- Graphics and carousels
- Event, rally, or webinar promotion

This is a full-time position with a salary range of $60,000-$70,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
The Lawfare Project offers a comprehensive benefits package, including full medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 403(b) retirement plan, paid time off and holidays, and the flexibility of remote work.
