News Writer

Seeking Alpha is looking for a part-time freelance Financial News Writer who can spot market-moving developments, quickly understand their significance, and turn them into accurate, engaging news stories for investors.

What You'll Do

Cover breaking news, M&A, corporate actions, management changes and other market-moving developments involving U.S.-listed companies.

Monitor SEC filings, company releases, news wires and financial data to identify stories.

Write sharp, timely headlines, ledes and news stories with a strong investor focus.

Track stock-price reactions and add relevant market context.

Work closely with editors to prioritize the most important developments.

Deliver accurate, well-sourced stories in a fast-paced newsroom environment.

What We're Looking For

2+ years of experience in financial, business or market journalism.

Strong understanding of U.S. stocks and financial markets.

Ability to quickly interpret earnings releases, SEC filings and corporate announcements.

Excellent written English and strong news judgment.

Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines, particularly during U.S. market hours.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Good to Have

Experience covering U.S.-listed companies.

Familiarity with Bloomberg, Capital IQ, FactSet or similar financial platforms.

Finance, economics, journalism or related educational background.

Location: Remote — India
Timing: Part-time, aligned with U.S. market hours (8:00 PM to 12:00 AM IST)
