An industrial designer defines the object and a small team builds the software. What we do not have yet is one person who owns how the brand looks everywhere else: this site, the box you open, the frames of the launch film, the ads, the deck.
It is a hands-on role at a company about to launch its first product, so the work is both building the system and using it.
What you’ll do
- Own and extend the brand system: type, colour, layout, motion, and the direction of photography and illustration.
- Design and art-direct the marketing site, with the front-end engineer who builds it.
- Retail packaging graphics and the unboxing, with the hardware team and the packaging supplier.
- The launch campaign: key visuals, film frames, paid and social assets, retail and event material.
- Product surfaces: app screens, states and iconography, with product and engineering.
- Investor and sales decks that look like they came from the same company as the product.
- Keep all of it coherent — one system, not a folder of one-offs.
What we’re looking for
- 4+ years of brand and digital design. A portfolio is required —
- Real range: you can set type well, direct a photograph, lay out a page, and finish a print file.
- Figma to a production standard, and comfortable handing off to engineers.
- You have taken a consumer brand or a campaign out into the world, not only through internal review.
- Able to work from a rough brief and come back with a point of view rather than options to pick from.
Nice to have
- Motion (After Effects) or 3D (Blender, Cinema 4D).
- Print production for packaging — you have been on press.
- Automotive or consumer electronics work.
- Art direction on a launch film or a photo shoot.
- Enough HTML and CSS to know what you are asking an engineer for.
