Mad Genius, Inc. · Jackson, MS, USA ·

Job type:
Full Time

At Mad Genius, we aim to deliver the unexpected—for our clients and for one another. We do this by holding our values at the core of the decisions we make, choosing always to be creative, curious, competitive, collaborative, and courageous. Sound like the kind of place you want to work? Perfect. Read on…
What You’ll Do

As a web designer at Mad Genius, you’ll wield pixels with purpose, crafting beautiful interfaces and bringing bold ideas to life across web and mobile platforms. You’ll design with users in mind and Figma at your fingertips, turning wireframes into component-based systems that scale and sing. Accessibility isn’t a buzzword; it’s a baseline. You’ll collaborate with developers, think in breakpoints, and speak fluent style guide. You might even throw in a subtle animation (hello, GSAP) when the moment’s right. You’ll bring sharp design thinking to brainstorms, chase elegance in interaction, and use every tool—from grids to gradients—to make the web a better place.
What You’ll Need

Excellent typography skills, with a strong eye for hierarchy, spacing, readability, and visual balance.
Expert in Figma for prototyping and maintaining design systems
Familiarity with branding systems and the ability to apply visual identity consistently
Comfortable presenting and justifying design decisions to internal teams and clients
Strong grasp of modern UX principles, interaction design, and usability best practices
Ability to design responsively across breakpoints with accessibility in mind (WCAG 2.1+)
Experience designing for CMS-based environments (e.g., WordPress, Statamic, Craft)
Proficient in mapping user flows, building low-to-high fidelity prototypes, and design documentation
Basic understanding of Git
Proficient in HTML5, semantic markup, and modern CSS3 techniques
Deep understanding of responsive layout, including flexbox, grid, and fluid type scales
Experience working with Tailwind CSS or similar utility-first frameworks
This role is open for in-house or regional hybrid candidates. Candidates in Mississippi and nearby regional markets encouraged to apply, periodic in-office collaboration required.
