We are looking to build out our editorial team to help us ensure quality control on a variety of deliverables. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled editor of fiction, nonfiction, and content writing, and has a desire to work collaboratively.
This is a remote, freelance (1099) position, approximately 5-20 hours a week, that requires a response time of 24 hours or less.
Responsibilities

A super detailed editorial eye and the ability to catch typos or other egregious errors
Extensive knowledge of The Chicago Manual of Style, 18th edition, and AP Style
Ability to review and assess project deliverables for style, grammar, and product specifications
Experience and demonstrated ability to follow detailed style and process guides
Experience using Microsoft Word's Track Changes function as well as editing in Google Drive
A successful candidate will

Have a finely honed knowledge of The Chicago Manual of Style, 18th edition (and a passing knowledge of other style guides, chiefly the Associated Press Stylebook)
Be able to work across multiple clients, learning their different style guides and standards
Be organized and confident. You are flexible, composed, and able to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
Be tech savvy and comfortable interacting, training, and completing assignments in a remote environment (Google Drive, Slack, Dropbox, etc.)
Be able to follow detailed process documents
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study or equivalent work experience
3+ years of editing experience
2+ years in a similar role
Mastery of the English language and The Chicago Manual of Style, 18th edition (and a passing knowledge of other style guides)
