About the Role
We are looking for a talented and experienced React Developer to join our engineering team in New York City. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality web applications using React and modern frontend technologies.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with a product-oriented mindset and has a passion for creating fast, scalable, accessible, and intuitive user experiences. You will work closely with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and other stakeholders to turn ideas into reliable, production-ready applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain scalable, high-performance web applications using React.js.
- Develop reusable, modular, and maintainable frontend components.
- Translate product requirements and UI/UX designs into responsive applications.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-tested JavaScript/TypeScript code.
- Work closely with designers and product managers to deliver polished user experiences.
- Integrate frontend applications with RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
- Implement state management using tools such as Redux, Zustand, Context API, or similar technologies.
- Optimize applications for performance, accessibility, responsiveness, and cross-browser compatibility.
- Develop reusable component libraries and contribute to design-system initiatives.
- Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests for critical application functionality.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve frontend bugs and performance issues.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to frontend engineering standards.
- Collaborate with backend and platform engineers on end-to-end technical solutions.
- Stay current with emerging React, JavaScript, and frontend development practices.
Must-Have Skills
- 2–8 years of professional experience in frontend or React development.
- Strong hands-on experience with React.js.
- Excellent knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Strong understanding of React hooks, component architecture, and state management.
- Experience building responsive and production-grade web applications.
- Experience integrating REST APIs and/or GraphQL.
- Strong understanding of frontend performance optimization.
- Experience with Git and modern software development workflows.
- Familiarity with frontend testing frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, or Playwright.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative engineering environment.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with Next.js and server-side rendering.
- Experience with Redux, Zustand, React Query, or similar state-management tools.
- Familiarity with Tailwind CSS, Material UI, Styled Components, or similar frameworks.
- Experience building and maintaining design systems.
- Knowledge of Node.js and backend development.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployment.
- Experience with WebSockets or real-time applications.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards such as WCAG.
- Experience working on AI-powered products, SaaS platforms, fintech applications, or other high-scale products.
