About the Role WXY is looking for a detail-oriented Junior Graphic Designer with a strong typographic sensibility to join our team. This designer will work directly under and support our Senior Graphic Designer, gaining hands‑on mentorship while contributing to real projects across brand, editorial, and digital systems. The position will require the ability to take on aspects of a project independently and balance production tasks with coordination responsibilities. This position requires close collaboration with the entire design team, office principals, consultants, and clients.
This is a temporary position intended to provide graphic design support for a defined period. The assignment may be extended based on business needs and performance.
What You'll Do Conduct design research, precedent studies, and visual explorations that inform communication strategies for the firm
Apply strong typographic judgment and establish clear hierarchy, grid systems, and visual consistency across layouts, editorial materials, and brand collateral
Support work related to environmental graphic design, wayfinding systems, and exhibition design elements as needed
Design and produce publications and print materials in InDesign, for both digital and printed formats
Create and refine illustrations, icons, and vector assets in Illustrator
Apply web design fundamentals — interface layouts, components, and design systems in Figma
Contribute to information design work — translating complex content into clear, well-organized visual formats (icons, infographics, maps, diagrams, data visualizations)
Prepare, adapt, and reformat content across Figma, InDesign, and PowerPoint as needed
Build and maintain social media post systems — templates and modular components that scale across campaigns while staying on-brand
Support the Senior Graphic Designer across daily design tasks, from concept through final production
Work closely with architecture, urban design, and planning teams to ensure consistent, thoughtful graphic standards across the studio
Support WXY's Marketing and Communications team — social media graphics, design proposal templates, presentation decks
Help organize and archive design files, assets, and documentation for the team
Move fluidly between multiple projects throughout the day as priorities shift
What We're Looking For Undergraduate or graduate degree in Graphic Design or an equivalent field
Figma proficiency required - comfortable building and adapting presentation decks and digital assets
Excellent typographic skills - a strong eye for hierarchy, spacing, and type pairing
Proficiency in InDesign and Illustrator
Genuine interest in information design and systems thinking
Strong organizational skills - comfortable with research and archiving tasks
Ability to take direction well, prioritize, and switch gears between tasks smoothly
A portfolio demonstrating typographic and layout fundamentals
Detail-oriented, curious, and collaborative
