publishes a growing portfolio of news websites and podcasts. We're looking for an
editor
for our
Healthcare content area : a news website, a slate of podcasts, and reporting tied to our healthcare events. You'll report and write your own stories, work with external podcast hosts to set the editorial direction, and manage podcasts' paths from concept to release, working with our in-house audio engineers, designers, and tech support. You'll also handle a defined set of podcast operations across our podcast portfolio.
Work hours: full time (40 hours/week, min.)
Salary Range: $95,000–$100,000 for candidates with the desired qualifications
Work Location: remote, with some travel required
Reports to: Executive Editor, Media and ContentSome travel to events is required.
Topic focus and responsibilities
IntegrativePractitioner.com, with a target of at least two articles a week, comprised of original reporting and occasional community contributions.
Healthcare podcasts: Medtech Talk and Breaking Health. Support external hosts on guest and topic planning, and work with our in-house audio engineers on production.
Helping develop and launch new podcasts beginning with the Integrative Practitioner Podcast, and others as the slate grows (concept, format, branding, possibly hosting, launch marketing)
Reported content connected to our healthcare events, including the Integrative Health Symposium, Medtech MVP, Food as Medicine Summit, Food as Medicine Policy & Research, the Digital Healthcare Innovation Summit, and other assigned events.
Day-to-day publishing for IntegrativePractitioner.com: scheduling stories in the CMS and approving press releases

Reviewing finished episodes for content before release: factual accuracy, stumbles, and passages a host or guest asks to remove or redo
Sending timestamped content edit requests to our in-house audio engineers, who make the cuts
Requesting graphics from our design team
Creating the marketing brief for each podcast
Sending episode materials to hosts and marketing contacts

Snapshot of a typical month
Write or edit original articles for IntegrativePractitioner.com
Manage the workflow for the portfolio podcasts, from episode planning through marketing briefs, content review, and release
Report event-related content, such as previews, speaker and session coverage, interviews, and follow-up stories.
Handle podcast operations for the rest of the portfolio
Coordinate with external hosts and in-house audio engineers and designers
Work with the executive editor and other content leads on story ideas, cross-posting, and event and launch plans
5-8 years’ experience reporting and writing about scientific topics from both interviews and the published literature, covering conferences or live events, delivering and meeting deadlines on multiple media products
Experience with podcast editorial management, such as planning episodes, booking and coordinating guests and hosts, or reviewing episodes for content. (Audio editing and engineering are not required--our in-house engineers handle audio balancing and cleanup.)
A careful ear. You'll catch content problems on a listen-through and describe them precisely enough that someone else can fix them.
Strong editorial judgment, including how to evaluate press releases and commentaries
Organization and follow-through. You'll manage many small recurring tasks across many products and keep them from consuming the creative work
Comfort with a CMS and basic podcast tools. Curiosity about AI tools is a plus, since we use them in our editorial workflow
Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with a small team
Willingness to travel for events (some travel required)
Nice to have:
experience hosting a podcast, familiarity with integrative health, medtech, or digital health.
Why this role is appealing
You can own a content area from idea to publication, rather than processing other people's work
Room to grow: new shows and event content mean the role expands as the portfolio does
Direct connection to our healthcare events and the communities around them
Templates, checklists, and AI tools that keep the routine work lean
A small, collaborative team led by an executive editor who values editorial independence
