About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented and creative Cinematic Artist to join their team in Paarl . In this role, you will be responsible for crafting compelling in-game cinematics that enhance storytelling and player immersion. You will work closely with the cinematic director, animators, and editors to bring narrative moments to life through stunning visuals, dynamic camera work, and effective pacing. Key Responsibilities

Assemble, edit, and animate scenes for in-game cinematics using motion capture data and keyframing techniques.
Set up cameras, lighting, and props within the game engine to create visually appealing cinematic sequences.
Collaborate with the narrative team to understand story requirements and translate them into compelling visual sequences.
Work with animators and technical artists to ensure seamless integration of characters and environments within cinematics.
Implement and optimize cinematic sequences within the game engine , ensuring performance and quality standards are met.
Participate in feedback sessions and iterate on cinematics based on director and team input.
Requirements

3+ years of experience as a Cinematic Artist , Technical Artist, or Animator focused on cinematics.
Proficiency with game engines such as Unreal Engine or Unity, including their cinematic tools (e.g., Sequencer, Timeline).
Strong understanding of cinematography, composition, lighting, and storytelling techniques .
Experience with 3D animation software (e.g., Maya) and editing software (e.g., Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve) is a plus.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
A portfolio showcasing high-quality cinematic work is required.
