Build accessible, modern UI experiences for medium to large-scale applications in McLean, VA.
Responsibilities
- Deliver practical UI/UX solutions to complex problems
- Adapt cutting-edge approaches to client-specific requirements
- Place end-user experience at the center of design and delivery
- Support accessible front-end design modifications
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve UX issues (including responsiveness and theming)
- Work with, and help define, common UI grid layouts
- Own the product lifecycle across Design, development, quality, deployment, and maintenance
- Contribute to team performance improvement and collaboration
- Solve problems creatively and effectively
Requirements
- 10+ years of related experience
- BA/BS in Information Technology or a related field
- Experience developing medium to large-scale applications, including testing, linting, and adherence to coding/web standards
- Hands-on experience with at least one: React or Vue (Vue preferred)
- Strong understanding of usability and accessibility standards, including WCAG
- Practical knowledge of Agile projects, from user stories and backlog management to acceptance criteria
- Strong foundation in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Fundamental experience with design principles and component library creation
- Comfort with Git and the command line
- Comfort with Browser ecosystem concepts, including the DOM and CSS cascade
- Comfort identifying, troubleshooting, and fixing UX problems (including responsiveness and theming)
- Comfort working in and defining common UI grid layouts
- Develop and adhere to application best practices
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
- Documented experience with DevOps/Platforms: Amazon Web Services (S3, RDS, EC2, ECS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, CloudFormation, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience developing with Ruby and Ruby on Rails
- Security clearance: TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Onsite location: McLean, VA (on Customer Site)
