Social Media Video Editor

HireSava · New York, NY, USA ·

Job type:
Full Time

Our client is a growing commercial cleaning company based in London and is looking for a creative Social Media Video Editor to turn existing raw footage into engaging videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels and Facebook.
The founder already films content and will provide raw videos, ideas, voice notes and reference accounts. Your main responsibility will be to bring this footage together into polished videos that feel personal, professional and engaging.
We are looking for someone with a strong eye for editing who can spot the best moments, build a clear story and keep viewers watching.
What you will be doing:

Editing raw footage into short videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels and Facebook
Selecting the strongest clips and removing pauses, repetition and unnecessary footage
Creating strong opening hooks through clip selection and on-screen text
Adding accurate subtitles, music, sound effects and transitions where appropriate
Improving audio, lighting and colour where needed
Editing cleaning transformations, before-and-after videos, behind-the-scenes footage and founder-led content
Following reference videos and adapting the editing style to suit the brand
Preparing finished videos in the correct format for each platform
Organising footage and making revisions following feedback
We are looking for someone who:

Has a portfolio of short-form videos they have personally edited
Is confident using CapCut, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or similar software
Understands pacing, storytelling, hooks and what keeps people watching
Can create clean, visually appealing edits without overusing effects
Has strong written English for accurate subtitles and on-screen text
Can work creatively with the footage provided without needing every cut explained
Is reliable, organised and comfortable receiving feedback
Canva skills are a bonus, but video editing is the main focus of this role. You will work remotely with footage provided by the founder.
A university degree is not required. Your editing ability, creativity and portfolio matter much more to us.
Hours and progression

Approximately 10 hours per week initially. The initial six weeks will be a probation period. Candidates who successfully complete probation and demonstrate strong creativity, reliability and consistent quality will receive an increased hourly rate, with the opportunity for increased hours as the role develops.
