About the Role
Renaissance Recovery is seeking a charismatic and authentic
HealthcarePodcast Host
to serve as the face and voice of our mental health, addiction, wellness, and recovery-focused podcast.
We are looking for someone who can connect naturally with an audience, tell meaningful stories, and create honest conversations around behavioral health and recovery. This position will work closely with our marketing team to develop engaging episodes featuring clinicians, industry professionals, advocates, content creators, and individuals within the mental health and recovery community.
Some episodes will feature the host independently, while others will include in-person or remote guests.
Because authenticity is central to the podcast, we strongly encourage candidates with personal or meaningful lived experience related to mental health, addiction, sobriety, or recovery who are comfortable openly discussing their experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Host approximately
4 long-form video and audio podcast episodes per month .
Be available
on-site approximately once per week
for podcast recording and content production.
Interview clinicians, behavioral health professionals, founders, advocates, influencers, content creators, and other guests.

Share or cross-post podcast content through social media when appropriate.
Represent Renaissance Recovery professionally while maintaining an authentic, relatable on-camera presence.
Podcast Tone
60-70% conversational
30-40% informational
Think of the relationship as an older sibling speaking with a younger sibling: relatable, approachable, and coming from a place of shared understanding, while still offering perspective, experience, education, and encouragement.
We want the podcast to feel natural rather than scripted or clinical.
What We're Looking For
Comfortable speaking on camera for extended periods, including conversations lasting approximately 60 minutes.
Strong communication, interviewing, and storytelling skills.
Charismatic, empathetic, and relatable on-camera presence.
Comfortable discussing mental health, addiction, sobriety, wellness, and recovery.
Ability to communicate naturally without sounding overly scripted or corporate.
Experience creating long-form video, podcast, YouTube, streaming, or similar content strongly preferred.
Familiarity with social media and digital content.
Reliable availability to attend an
in-person recording session approximately once per week in Orange County .
Preferred Qualifications
Personal or meaningful lived experience related to mental health, addiction, or recovery.
Previous podcast hosting or interviewing experience.
Prior content creator experience.
Existing social media presence or online community.
Familiarity with behavioral health and recovery-related topics.
Awareness of current pop culture, digital media, wellness, mental health, and recovery trends.
Follower count is
not
the primary consideration. Candidates with smaller but highly engaged communities are strongly encouraged to apply.
On-Site Recording
Most preparation and collaboration can be completed remotely; however, podcast recording will take place in person.
The selected host should be available to come
on-site approximately once per week
for recording.
We value individuality and authentic expression. Professional appearance is expected when filming, but the environment is intended to feel comfortable, natural, and representative of the communities we serve.
Candidates who advance through the interview process may be asked to participate in an
in-person interview and on-camera screen/chemistry test .
Renaissance Recovery is looking for someone who can help create honest conversations that educate, connect, and resonate with people impacted by mental health and addiction. If you're comfortable being yourself on camera and having meaningful conversations, we'd love to hear from you!
