Videographer - Retail Marketing

Location:

Midvale, UT 84047
Position Summary

The Retail Marketing Videographer produces the video that sells mophie product at retail — including in-store display and endcap loops, demo and feature‑explainer videos for retail partner product pages, launch assets for the retail channel, and sales‑enablement and trade show content. This role shoots in‑studio and on location, edits, and builds motion graphics in After Effects, delivering assets that conform to each retail partner's specifications and to mophie brand standards.
The ideal candidate is a polished, detail‑driven craftsperson: strong on camera, lighting, and audio; fluent in After Effects; and comfortable working to fixed specifications, brand guidelines, and a retail calendar with hard in‑store dates. This role does not own social channels. Social‑first vertical content sits with the Social Media Videographer; this role may supply source footage and cutdowns to that function.
Key Responsibilities

Shoot

Shoot product, tabletop, and lifestyle video in‑studio and on location
Operate camera, lighting, and audio on solo and small‑crew shoots
Set up and strike studio lighting, grip and set; light product for clean, repeatable brand‑standard results
Serve as second camera / camera operator on larger campaign shoots
Shoot demo and how‑to content that shows product function clearly and accurately
Capture on location at retail environments, events, and trade shows as needed
Edit and Animate

Edit retail marketing video from raw capture through final delivery
Build motion graphics in After Effects: product callouts, feature animations, spec cards, lower thirds, and end frames
Maintain and extend After Effects templates so recurring asset types stay consistent and fast to produce
Edit for silent playback first — in‑store screens run without audio, so meaning carries on visuals and on‑screen text
Color and finish to brand standard across all delivered content
Version and conform assets to each retail partner's aspect ratio, runtime, loop, and file‑format specs
Retail Channel

Produce in‑store display, endcap, kiosk, and shelf‑screen loops
Produce product‑page and listing video for retail partner and e‑commerce placements
Deliver launch video packages for the retail channel, timed to in‑store and on‑shelf dates
Produce sales‑enablement and trade show video for the retail sales team
Work from retail partner brand guidelines and co‑op marketing requirements without needing them re‑explained each cycle
Partner with retail marketing and product teams on messaging, claims, and feature accuracy
Operate

Manage media end to end: ingest, back up, organize, and archive footage to team standards
Deliver against a retail calendar with fixed, non‑moving in‑store dates
Maintain camera and studio equipment; flag repair and replacement needs
Contribute ideas in content planning, shot listing, and batch shoot prep
Qualifications

Required Experience

3–5 years of professional video production and editing experience
Reel or portfolio demonstrating product, commercial, or brand marketing video
Experience delivering to fixed specifications and brand guidelines, not just open creative briefs
Camera, Lighting and Audio

Strong fundamentals in camera operation (mirrorless or cinema bodies)
Studio lighting: strobe and continuous, including product and tabletop setups
Location lighting and the judgment to work quickly in uncontrolled spaces
Production audio: mics, levels, and clean capture on interview and demo setups
Comfortable with gimbal work — stabilized movement, tracking, and walk‑and‑talk shots
Post Production

Adobe After Effects: motion graphics, product animation, and template building and maintenance
Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve
Color grading to a consistent brand standard
Confident versioning and conforming assets across multiple aspect ratios, runtimes, and delivery specs
AI Skills

Baseline working fluency is expected; not an AI specialist but a user who leverages AI tools to move faster
Comfortable using AI in normal post workflow: generative fill and object removal, background cleanup and extension, rotoscoping and tracking assistance, upscaling, transcription, and auto‑captioning
Able to write clear prompts and iterate toward usable results rather than accepting the first output
Uses AI for supporting work — asset versioning, copy and on‑screen text drafts, concept and storyboard exploration — while keeping final creative judgment their own
Understands limits in a retail context: product must be represented accurately, with no fabricated product imagery, invented features, unverified claims, or AI‑generated likeness without clearance
Willing to learn and adopt new tools as the team's workflow changes
Working Style

Able to manage multiple deliverables on deadline with minimal supervision
Precise about specs, file naming, versioning, and delivery — retail dates do not move
Able to lift and move production equipment up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods on shoot days
Preferred

Consumer electronics, accessories, or other consumer‑products brand experience
Experience delivering to major retail partners and their asset specifications
Advanced color grading and node‑based workflows in DaVinci Resolve
3D product animation or render work (Cinema 4D, Blender, or similar)
Still photography capability for retail, packaging, and e‑commerce use
Experience with packaging, POP, or print production and how video assets sit alongside them
Trade show or event production experience
