Visual Design AI Trainer

MissionHires · New York, NY, USA ·

Job type:
Contract

When AI gets the details wrong in your field, real people pay for it. The people who know the work best have to be the ones training these models. You’re not being replaced by AI. You’re making sure it’s used accurately and safely.

Responsibilities:

Create challenging, realistic visual design briefs based on professional design experience.

Run design briefs through frontier AI design tools and evaluate the outputs against professional design standards.

Compare outputs from two AI model versions using identical prompts and assets, determining which performs better and identifying shortcomings.

Critique AI-generated interfaces, mockups, layouts, slides, infographics, illustrations, and motion work.

Identify and document specific design failures, including alignment, spacing, overflow, cutoff issues, typography, visual hierarchy, illustration or SVG quality, ignored assets, and off-brief interpretations.

Contribute expertise across software and interactive design, office and presentation design, technical illustration, graphic design, and new media.

Requirements:

Native or bilingual-level fluency in English.

Professional background in UI/UX design, web design, product design, or graphic design.

Strong understanding of visual hierarchy, layout, typography, interaction design, and user flows.

Ability to clearly explain why a design does not meet professional standards, not just identify that it fails.

Comfort using AI design tools or the ability to learn them quickly.

A current, in-progress, or completed Bachelor's degree is preferred but not required.

Must be eligible to work as an independent contractor and receive payment through PayPal.

Benefits:

Choose the projects you want to work on.

Work flexible hours on your own schedule.

Work remotely using your own computer.

Earn hourly rates of $75 to $125 USD per hour, with bonus rates available for some projects.

Contribute directly to improving the next generation of AI design tools.
