Senior Content Design Strategist

Strategic Employment Partners · Boston, MA, USA · Remote ·

Job type:
Contract

We build software that helps general contractors and specialty contractors handle cost changes and get paid accurately and on time, replacing the paper, spreadsheets and email threads the industry still runs on. We’re venture-backed, past our Series B, and trusted by some of the largest builders in North America. We keep the team lean by choice, so what you create shows up in front of customers within days, not quarters.

About the Role
We’re looking for a construction professional to be the industry voice of our marketing team. This is a senior seat, and a career change on purpose. We can teach someone the marketing playbook. What we can’t teach is years of pricing extra work, defending it with an owner, and chasing it through closeout. That experience is the qualification, and in this role it’s the content.

You’ll make what contractors actually stop scrolling for: short videos, webinars you host, practical written guides, and launch content for new product features. You’ll also review what the rest of marketing puts out, because one line that sounds like it came from someone who’s never been on a jobsite costs us credibility we can’t buy back. You’ll report to our VP of Marketing, work closely with our content, sales and customer success teams, and have the attention of our founder, who sees this hire as one of the most important on the team.

Your first months are about building trust and momentum: learning the product, getting your point of view on camera, and helping the team double the content we put out each week. You won’t be doing it alone. Our VP of Marketing will handle strategy and teach you the marketing fundamentals, and we’ll set you up with the AI tools to move fast.

This role is fully remote, because the people we’re looking for are spread across the country and we’d rather hire the right person than the closest one. If you happen to be in the Bay Area, our office is open to you. We’ll also get you out from behind the screen: about 5–10 industry events a year, where you’ll speak, work the booth, and visit customer projects to capture stories as they happen.

Key Responsibilities

Create construction-focused content: short-form video, webinars, written guides, and launch content for new features

Review content across the company so it holds up with PMs, supers and back-office teams

Pitch content ideas based on real field and financial pain points, from the perspective of someone who’s lived them

Represent us at 5–10 trade shows, conferences and customer sites a year, as a peer to the people in the room rather than a vendor

Act as the in-house construction expert for marketing, sales, product and customer success

Help scale output using AI tools and repeatable processes, so good ideas turn into finished content faster

Qualifications

5+ years of hands-on experience as a project manager, senior PM, project executive, superintendent or precon lead at a general contractor or specialty subcontractor

You’ve negotiated change orders, T&M and project financials yourself, not just watched someone else do it

You’re comfortable on camera or in front of a room, and you can show us: posts, recorded trainings, presentations, anything real

You have opinions about what contractors need to hear, and you can act on them without waiting for direction

You’re excited to move from the field into a technology company, not just away from the field

Based in the U.S. and comfortable traveling several times a year

Bonus Points

An existing following or content presence on LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok or YouTube

Experience hosting webinars or podcasts, or speaking on panels

You’ve built training, onboarding or best-practice programs at your company

Leadership roles in industry associations, boards or peer groups

Hands-on experience with construction software such as Procore or Autodesk Construction Cloud

You already use AI tools to write, edit or produce video

What We Offer

Fully remote, with an optional Bay Area office

All event travel covered, plus a laptop and home-office setup

Health, dental and vision coverage, 401(k), and flexible PTO

A visible role with a clear path into broader industry and go-to-market leadership as we grow

A straightforward hiring process: an intro conversation with our VP of Marketing, a conversation focused on your industry depth, time with our founder, then a short project (a quick, unpolished video and a ready-to-publish blog post) that you’ll walk us through
