Volunteers for Democracy's Future PAC (V4DF) seeks an emerging political digital communications professional ready for the next step in their career. You have developed your skills, gained practical experience, and have ideas about how political communications can be more effective. Now you want the opportunity to put those ideas into practice.
As our first paid team member (this is expected to be a contract, part time, to hire, full time) you will have meaningful creative responsibility, direct access to the Executive Director, and the opportunity to shape the communications approach of a growing national Super PAC. You will work with a small volunteer team, taking existing material and turning it into compelling, platform-appropriate content while helping establish a consistent publishing and measurement process.
For the current election cycle, PAC activities have been financed by a small group of independent donors and substantial financial contributions and commitments from the Executive Director. This is an opportunity to build something, not simply maintain an established communications department.
Responsibilities
Adapt existing videos, articles, and other materials for each social platform.
Maintain a practical content calendar and personally publish and manage posts.
Develop and test new creative concepts and formats; monitor trends and audience responses.
Track performance and recommend changes based on results.
Coordinate with the Executive Director and volunteer contributors; maintain brand consistency.
What we are looking for:
Someone with demonstrated execution skills who is ready to lead the work, challenge conventional approaches constructively, and take ownership of results. This is not an entry-level role, nor is it a role limited to supervising others.
See examples of our current paid-media content: https://www.v4df.com/our-work/video-library. Additional content can be shared with interested candidates.
Job Requirements
3-5 years of relevant experience preferred in digital communications, social media, political campaigns, advocacy, journalism, or related fields.
Demonstrated ability matters more than years of experience or formal credentials.
Proven ability to create, adapt, and publish engaging content across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, X, and Bluesky.
Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills, including adapting existing video and written content for different audiences and platforms.
Understanding of the American political landscape, including the concerns of independent, disengaged, and politically disaffected voters.
Ability to develop a practical digital communications strategy and independently execute it.
Familiarity with social media scheduling, analytics, audience engagement, and performance measurement.
Experience with video editing, graphic design, and content creation tools such as Canva, CapCut, Adobe Creative Cloud, or comparable platforms.
Intellectual curiosity, sound judgment, creativity, and a willingness to question conventional approaches.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
Comfortable collaborating directly with the Executive Director and a small volunteer team while taking ownership of assigned projects.
Available for an independent contractor (1099) engagement requiring approximately 20 hours per week.
We particularly encourage applications from emerging professionals who have developed strong practical skills and are ready to take on broader strategic and creative responsibility. A degree in communications, political science, or a related field is welcome but not required.
This position offers the opportunity to help shape the communications function of a growing Super PAC, with potential for expanded leadership responsibilities as the organization develops.
