General Requirements
The Minister of Music should have a well-defined theology of worship, creating an atmosphere where true worship of God takes place. The individual should be comfortable with both contemporary and traditional styles, blending them to serve a broad congregation.

Provide direction to the church music program and musicians.

Assist the pastor in planning, conducting, and evaluating worship services.

Develop and encourage musical talent among church members.

Prepare music for the Worship Team.

Plan, organize, and lead rehearsals for the Worship Team.

Plan music for special occasions (Christmas, Easter, revivals).

Be available Sundays and Wednesday evenings.

Personal Requirements

Meet biblical qualifications for ministry (1 Timothy 3).

Be people-oriented and able to motivate and encourage others to serve the Lord with their musical giftings.

Maintain a strong personal walk with Christ (Bible study, prayer, repentance).

As a paid Staff member, be a team player focused on the overall mission of the church.

Demonstrate a servant-hearted, 'whatever it takes' mindset.

Additional Expectations

Limited to 2 Sundays missed per year (with prior approval by pastor).

Must be present for Christmas Eve and Easter.

Arrive by 8:30 AM on Sundays to ensure all A/V and song slides are ready for the Worship Service.

Prepared to dedicate full Sundays to worship preparation and leadership.

Provide songs for the Sunday Worship Service by Wednesday morning.

Prepare music materials for Worship Team midweek.

Lead choir rehearsals and worship team practice (at least once prior to Sunday morning).

Maintain and organize song library (electronically and hard-copy as required).

Be sensitive to congregation needs (blended worship style, children’s and youth choirs, etc.).

Utilize musical gifts within the church body to lead the members to worship and glorify the Lord in song.

Communicate clearly with staff and volunteers, in order to effectively steward and grow the Worship Ministry of the Church.

Salary and Compensation

$11,500 - $14,000 per year (based on experience)
