Social Media Specialist & Content Creator This entry-level role is ideal for a creative, mission-driven individual with a strong passion for photography and visual storytelling. At Timothy Christian Schools, you will use your camera to amplify our mission to uphold Biblical truth, ignite academic growth, and inspire courageous leadership. You will create authentic, high-quality photographic and short-form video content for social media and print that celebrates student life, academic excellence, athletic achievements, artistic talents, and everyday moments of faith and growth. Reporting to the Director of Marketing and collaborating closely with the Director of Communications, you will work as part of a supportive, cross-functional team (Development, Marketing, Communications, and Admissions). Your primary contribution will be building and maintaining a vibrant visual library of campus life that reflects Timothy’s mission, values, and Biblical worldview. This position offers hands-on experience in photographic storytelling, content creation, community engagement, and strategic communication—perfect for someone eager to grow their photography skills while making an immediate visual impact in a collaborative, faith-focused environment. Key Responsibilities Photographic Storytelling & Content Creation — Capture, edit, and post compelling photography and short-form video that showcases campus life, events, academics, athletics, arts, and student stories. Maintain a consistent, authentic visual brand voice aligned with Timothy’s mission. On-Campus Visual Documentation — Regularly photograph and film daily campus life, chapel, classroom moments, athletic competitions, performances, and special events to build a rich, ongoing visual archive. Coordinate with freelance photographers/videographers for major events under guidance from leadership. Social Media Management — Manage content calendars across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, etc.), prioritizing strong visual content. Monitor comments, messages, and inquiries; respond thoughtfully to foster positive community interaction. Photo Editing & Visual Asset Production — Edit photos and short videos to a polished standard. Create simple supporting graphics, event signage, digital templates, and social media assets using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Lightroom, Canva, or similar. Campaign & Event Visual Support — Collaborate with the team to plan and execute photographic and video content strategies for key initiatives including Timothy Giving Day, Taste of Timothy, the biennial auction, open houses, and other school events. Performance Tracking — Monitor social media analytics (engagement, reach, growth) with a focus on visual content performance; provide monthly insights and recommendations to strengthen photographic storytelling and overall strategy. Qualifications

A passion for Photography, Visual Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, or a related field. Demonstrated photography skills and a strong visual eye, with the ability to capture authentic, engaging images of people and campus life. You’ll use everything from a phone to a DSLR with off-camera flash. Strong writing and editing skills for crafting audience-focused social media captions that complement photographic work. Familiarity with major social media platforms and current visual content trends/best practices. Enthusiasm for photographic storytelling, community engagement, and faith-based education.

Preferred

Hands-on experience (internship, personal projects, volunteer work, or coursework) in photography and/or videography, photo editing (Lightroom/Photoshop or equivalent), graphic design, or social media content creation. Portfolio demonstrating still photography and short-form video work. Basic knowledge of content scheduling tools (e.g., Later, Creator Studio) or willingness to learn quickly. Passion for Christian education and excitement about using photography and video to tell stories that glorify God.
