Job Title: Mechanical Designer
Job Description
In this role, you will utilize your skills and expertise to develop engineering definitions for the Airborne Mission Network (ABMN) C-130 program. Your work will be integral to a complex technical data package, including parts and assemblies for advanced mission payloads and electronic systems. You will create and review layouts, drawings, and models for clarity, completeness, and accuracy, while also identifying design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommending revisions and improvements.
Responsibilities

Develop engineering designs using SolidWorks and the PLM tool (3D Experience).

Generate change actions, revise drawings, suggest changes, and create designs for approval.

Manage a batch of drawings independently through the approval process.

Ensure changes do not disrupt higher assemblies.

Collaborate with mechanical and electrical leads effectively.
Essential Skills
-
Proficiency in SolidWorks and experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools.

Understanding of engineering principles and practices, including configuration management.

Ability to read blueprints and apply industry-standard design principles.

Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with Enterprise Product Data Management (EPDM) and 3Dxperience (PLM) software.

Knowledge of DoD specs and MIL standards is advantageous.

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent with 3 or more years of relevant experience.

Preferred: Associates or Technical Degree in a related field.

Background in the Aerospace & Defense Industry is preferred.
Work Environment
The role is based in an office environment, closely located to aircraft hangars. Initial onboarding and training require on-site presence for about the first month to learn systems and processes. After demonstrating independent work capability, a hybrid schedule (three days in office, two days remote) is possible. The workplace offers a state-of-the-art coffee house and a free fitness center on-site.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $45.00/hr.
