Title-Technical Writer/Instructional Designer Duration- 6+ Months Location: Hybrid (flexible) - Miami, FL Length: 6 months ongoing (long term)

Notes: Must know how to create videos out of content Good grammar Must have experience writing or creating content for internal and external customers Graphics or design experience are desired Must provide samples of work

Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities: • Develop, write, and edit technical documentation such as user guides, process manuals, and instructional content for various audiences. • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather technical information and translate it into clear and effective materials. • Create engaging instructional videos and e-learning content to support staff training and public education. • Develop content and public service announcements (PSAs) to inform and guide internal and external customers about the E-Plan application and related processes. • Ensure all content aligns with ADA compliance standards, ensuring accessibility for individuals with disabilities. • Conduct content reviews and edit materials for grammar, clarity, tone, and accuracy. • Design and maintain templates for consistent document formatting and style. • Develop interactive learning experiences to support City of Miami processes and regulations. • Maintain version control of content and manage updates as processes evolve. • Conduct training sessions or workshops as needed.

Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Education, Technical Writing, or a related field. • 2+ years of experience in technical writing, instructional design, or content creation. • Proficiency in creating video content using tools such as Camtasia, Adobe Captivate, or similar software. • Strong knowledge of ADA compliance guidelines for digital content. • Experience developing content for public service announcements or public education campaigns. • Excellent grammar, editing, and proofreading skills. • Ability to translate complex technical information into easy-to-understand materials. • Experience designing interactive learning content or e-learning modules is a plus. • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deliverables.

Preferred Skills: • Familiarity with building codes, permitting processes, or municipal government operations. • Experience using learning management systems (LMS). • Knowledge of graphic design tools such as Canva, Adobe Illustrator, or Snagit. • Previous experience creating content related to E-Plan application or similar software platforms.
