Position Summary: The Creative Services Manager leads the in-house creative team in designing and producing visual, audio, and media for advertising, broadcast, and web communications. The manager is the lead creative person, establishing the creative direction for the Athletico brand's art, photo, video, and layout design to support growth objectives.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership to a team of creative professionals, providing management support, coaching, and training.
  • Manage brand adherence and design for all produced materials, including print, digital, and video assets.
  • Align creative strategies with Athletico’s marketing strategy, recommending ways to leverage the creative design to elevate brand.
  • Develop new design ideas and concepts that leverage the Athletico brand and expand the quality of brand exposure and equity within all marketing executions.
  • Work closely with marketing leadership to understand key messages and objectives to ensure creative is aligned and delivers the required result.
  • Facilitate creative project kickoffs to ensure an understanding of expectations and final deliverables.
  • Develop and deliver presentations to internal partners and leadership on visual communications, strategies, and projects.
  • Drive constant improvement in creative processes, ensuring that the department operates efficiently by developing project design, approval, and production schedules.
  • Oversee production on all projects – quoting, proofing, and quality assurance to maintain color and brand consistency.
  • Ensure final materials are accurate and error-free, including file construction, organization, and file preparation for printing.
  • Support marketing leadership in overseeing inventory management and Athletico’s online print and promotional store.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Education
    • Bachelor’s degree in fine arts, graphic design, or related discipline required
  • Work Experience:
    • 5 years of experience in the graphic design profession required, preferably in a health-related field
    • Minimum 2 years of management experience required
    • Experience with video production, including shooting and editing
    • Experience organizing and directing professional photo shoots, videographers, and other creatives from concept to final art
    • Experience managing external vendors
  • Certification/Licensure:
    • None required
  • Knowledge and Technical Skills:
    • Familiarity with various printing methods (offset, web, digital) and techniques, types of paper stocks, coatings, and inks
    • Strong command of graphic arts and visual communications strategies.
    • Strategic and critical thinker interested in trends, best practices, and innovation.
    • Exceptional knowledge of design programs in the Adobe Creative Suite and video production tools
    • Exceptional knowledge of all Microsoft applications, including database applications
    • A thorough understanding of consistent production from online to print and vice-versa
    • Proven ability to track, measure, and monitor marketing expenditures
    • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to quick deadlines
    • Good understanding of methods, procedures, techniques, and mediums available for visual and creative design
    • Ability to lead projects from concept to completion

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to fulfill office activities including, but not limited to, remain stationary for extended periods of time (i.e., while working at a desk), stoop/kneel/crouch, travel around the office, communicate with others (verbal and written), and use fine motor skills including fine hand manipulation and keyboarding.
  • Ability to see at close range, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20-25 pounds.
  • Some weekend and after-business hours work may be required four to eight times a year.
  • Consistent with a standard office environment, noise level is low with little to no extraordinary environmental factors.
