We are seeking applicants for temporary lecturer position(s) in the subjects of Composition, Computer Music, Music Theory and Skills, Music History, and Performance.
Duties:
- Instruction
- Class preparation
- Grading
- Office hours
- Other duties may be assigned based on departmental needs.
Salary: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience and based on published UC pay scales.
Appointment Details: Appointments may be one or more quarters based on departmental need, and for one, two, or three courses per quarter. Subsequent applications will be reviewed periodically as teaching needs arise.
Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application):
- Demonstrated track record of teaching classes in a university setting
- ABD for PhD or DMA status in Music or relevant topic; candidates who do not have a PhD or DMA in Music should have at minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience teaching large scale classes in a university setting
- Experience teaching upper-division courses in relevant music courses aligned with our department’s offerings
- Curriculum Vitae - Your most recently updated C.V.
- Teaching Evaluations - Please provide at least 3 different summaries in the last 3 years compiled together into 1 PDF.
- Statement of Contributions to Diversity - Applicants should summarize their past or potential contributions to diversity.
