We are ARVORE, a startup in the virtual reality content creation scene.

Based out of Los Angeles and São Paulo, our studio creates, designs, produces, and develops world-class interactive experiences and games for all current and future high-end immersive platforms, including virtual reality, augmented reality, and mixed reality.

ARVORE is looking to hire a technically adept, creative individual to complement our team. You will have the opportunity to work on innovative immersive and narrative-driven XR experiences, iterating and prototyping with a high level of creative freedom and the opportunity to guide the direction of some of these endeavours.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The UI/UX Designer at ARVORE is responsible for helping the team create the best user experience in our games, ensuring that the end-to-end journey meets desired outcomes.

MAIN CROSS-FUNCTIONAL ACTIVITIES:

General Responsibilities:

  1. Develop the User Experiences & Interfaces (UX/UI) strategy, and help set up the roadmap based on analysis for optimized consumer experience;
  2. Provide rationale and supporting data for UX recommendations;
  3. Apply the UX/UI standards to identify improvement areas, test and validate new standards through analysis and tests (external, internal, A/B, etc.);
  4. Prepare all UX/UI design and delivery documentation in full and on time for developers to work from (this could include preparation of user journeys, concept maps, game UX flows, and wireframes);
  5. Analyze user insights to identify enhancements to the consumer experience;
  6. Develop a solid UI Styleguide for the game, based on the work of other fronts, such as Production Design, Visual Design, Marketing, Creative Direction, and Lead Artists;
  7. Build game menus, navigation buttons, search fields, narrative text boxes, among other key UI elements;
  8. Develop UI mockups, wireframes, and low and hi-fi prototypes that clearly illustrate how navigation functions and looks;
  9. Prepare and present rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders;
  10. Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback.

MUST HAVE:

  1. Deep knowledge of UX principles and directives, like Usability Tests, Features/Interactions Design, Experience Flow;
  2. Great visual skills to create interfaces easy to understand, use, and love;
  3. Good knowledge of prototyping tools, like Figma;
  4. Experience with digital graphical tools like Photoshop and Illustrator;
  5. Great iconography, grid, and typography skills;
  6. Capacity to analyze User Experience insights and wireframes, and build high fidelity user interface prototypes;
  7. Excellent communication skills;
  8. Excellent time estimation, management, and organizational skills and the ability to cope with multiple projects at a time;
  9. Accuracy and attention to detail;
  10. Professionalism regarding time, budgets, and deadlines;
  11. Proficiency in multimedia presentation software, such as Keynote and/or Google Slides;
  12. Advanced English.

NICE TO HAVE:

  1. Experience Knowledge of Unity and/or Unreal UI layout and animation;
  2. Previous work with Visual Identity and brand design, or design for marketing and advertising;
  3. Some knowledge with animation and motion design;
  4. A passion for Games, Movies, TV, Art, Animation, RPGs, Theater, and narrative experiences would be a great plus.
