2 NEWS is looking for an Associate Producer who is responsible for contributing story ideas, writing stories, and organizing them within an energetic and memorable newscast or digital content for the web.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Assists in writing and production of broadcast or on-line publication
2. Contributes to the editorial process and makes solid decisions in breaking news situations
3. Executes strategies that engage and grow audiences across all digital devices
4. Works on digital streaming platform to assist with production of specialty programming
5. Photographs local events and breaking news for digital platforms
6. Writes, produces, and edits material that appeals to target audiences
7. Works with investigative team to develop leads
8. Researches production topics using the internet, video archives, and other information sources

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Communications, TV/film or equivalent experience may substitute
2. Understands brand building directives
3. Interacts well with journalists, anchors, photographers, news managers, production, digital and engineering staff
4. Detail oriented
5. Excellent verbal, written, grammar and analytical skills
6. Ability to develop strong news judgment
7. Possesses journalistic integrity and understanding of viewer needs and expectations
8. Knowledge of media production, communication and dissemination techniques and methods, including alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, digital and visual media
9. Ability to meet quality standards for service & evaluate customer satisfaction
