Responsibilities

Receives initial and final drafts of technical documents.Maintains electronic database (through data entry) of technical publications and documentation.Coordinates timing and sequence of editorial and word processing projects and maintains close control to meet proposed publication deadlines.Ensures technical publications meet all DHA Public Affairs Office (PAO) and DHA 508 compliance requirements.Review camera-ready documents for errors.Assembles documents in final form and ensures overall completeness (such as checking pagination, placement of figures, tables, footnotes).Ensures final documents have been approved by the appropriate parties.Prepares covers for camera-ready documents and notifies designated Government personnel, through email, phone, or written correspondence, to review documents.Operates word processing equipment such as computers and other technical information equipment (e.g., scanner, printer).Prepares documents to be sent to the printing office and maintains liaison the printers through email, phone, or written correspondenceIdentifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem-solving situations; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topicsDevelop strategies to achieve organizational goals; Understands organization's strengths & weaknesses; Analyze market and competition; Identifies external threats and opportunities; Adapts strategy to changing conditions.Approaches others in a tactful manner; Reacts well under pressure; Treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position; Accepts responsibility for own actions; Follows through on commitments.Displays original thinking and creativity; Meets challenges with resourcefulness; Generates suggestions for improving work; Develops innovative approaches and ideas; Presents ideas and information in a manner that gets others' attentionOther duties as assigned

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in a related fieldMinimum three (3) years of experience in high-level government contractsKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of English grammar rules and procedures for preparing material for publication.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Knowledge of DHA PAO and DHA 508 compliance requirementsKnowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.Must have knowledge using InDesign, Illustrator, and PhotoshopAbility to Write clearly and informatively; Edits work for spelling and grammar; Varies writing style to meet needs; Presents numerical data effectively; Able to read and interpret written information.Treats people with respect; Keeps commitments; Inspires the trust of others; Works with integrity and ethically; Upholds organizational values.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.Ability to write reports, proposals, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
