What does a successful Technical Writing Manager do at Fiserv?Technical writers communicate complex information clearly, concisely, and accurately. Your role involves leading the delivery of technical documentation including user manuals, message standards, technical specifications, knowledge articles and help content. As a Technical Writing manager, you’ll manage a team of writer’s day-to-day activities. Using your extensive technical and leadership experience you’ll set direction, give feedback, collaborate internally, and lend specific content expertise. You must be highly motivated possessing strong organization and leadership skills with proven results. Documentation is a dynamic department—the contributions of all members are key to producing quality documentation and maintaining our high standards. Seeking a candidate with technical writing, leadership, verbal communication skills, and demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced development environment.What you will do:Lead a team of Technical Writers, set the goals, priorities, and vision.Produce exceptional documentation that enables clients to understand Fiserv’s products and efficiently complete their jobs with minimal service calls.Deliver document focus of: User Guides, Quick References, Page Help (HTML)files, and Technical Specifications.Lead multiple projects in a fast paced, constantly changing environment.Manage multiple competing priorities in support of multiple products and services.Identify and resolve issues relating to documentation project schedules, resource availability, documentation structure and deliverables.Effectively communicate and collaborate with other content creators to ensure a unified tone, style, and voice across all content.Identify requirements, scope, and estimation of work.Determine timelines and reporting progress to project sponsor (Product Manager/Product Owner).Create final content for client-facing documentation.Outline proposed deliverables or indicate where existing deliverables will change.Ability to interact with all levels of an organization.What you will need to have:Bachelor's Degree required; degree in Technical Communications, Professional Writing, English, or Journalism preferred.3 or more years’ experience managing or leading technical writers.5+ years of relevant technical writing experience in applicable field.Adheres to the Microsoft Manual of Styles and Standards and department writing standards.Experience with help development toolset to include desktop publishing, graphics, and word processing. (Word, FrameMaker, Visio, Excel, SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat).Experience with Madcap Flare software and HTML.Understanding of content analysis, modeling, design, and structured writing.Experience with screen capture and screen editing tools for importing into other sources (Flare, Word, PowerPoint).Ability to participate in Agile meetings and translate initiatives to content impacts and requirements.Able to perform and succeed with limited supervision.Must be highly motivated and be able to motivate the team.What would be great to have:Advanced degree in Technical Communications.Experience working with DITA and/or Adobe Suite.Experience writing user interface text and application screen content.Experience with Component Content Management Systems.Exposure to Card Services products in B2B professional service environments.Proficiency with SharePoint document repositories and Word templates.This role is not eligible to be performed in Colorado, California, New York or Washington.Please note that salary ranges provided for this role on external job boards are salary estimates made by outside parties and may not be accurate.Thank you for considering employment with Fiserv.
