Whether you work in our state-of-the-art Casino, our beautiful Resort, or become a staff member in our Tribal Government division, you will be part of the Sycuan family.Job Purpose:Manages internal and external company communicationsJob Duties and Responsibilities:(Note: Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at the sole discretion of Sycuan Management at any time)Manages effective communications by developing and recommending media strategies, objectives and plans to strengthen company image, collaborating with the Chief Administrative Officer, General Manager, Executive Team, Vice President Marketing, Marketing Manager, and Community Development Manager to implement approved communication plans and programs, and maintaining an updated active media database. - 30%Develops and manages media relations, strategies, tactics and goals by creating high-level media relation plans and securing placements in print, broadcast and online media, and monitoring, analyzing and communicating results on a monthly and annual basis. - 20%Promotes Sycuan's image by cultivating and managing relationships with mainstream and local media, interacting with television and radio personnel, researching and applying for business and industry awards, promoting Sycuan through magazines, social media, newspapers, media spots, and participating with public marketing events. - 20%Standardizes company communications and materials by writing and editing copy for various marketing materials, press releases, fact sheets, e-mail blasts, blog posts, internal team member newsletters, and providing editorial and style assistance to the Creative Services team for external and internal marketing collateral. - 20%Manages communications with third-party entities by collaborating and producing joint press releases, announcements, media spots, events and marketing materials. -10%Job Specifications:Education and Experience:Bachelors' Degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, or related field or equivalent experience3 years of public relations, publicity or communications experience for a large organization in a key communications positionMedia experience (preferably in the San Diego market)Experience with social media engagementSkills and Knowledge:Ability to present promotional information in front of cameras and microphonesAbility to interact effectively with guests, external agencies, vendors, and team membersAbility to prioritize and monitor multiple tasks and assignmentsAbility to write and edit articles and press releasesAbility to create and execute plans and programsAbility to analyze data and make sound business recommendationsAbility to present complex concepts in a clear and concise mannerAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlinesAbility to understand and follow verbal directives and written directionsAbility to communicate effectively in the English languageAbility to complete forms, documents and written reportsAbility to maintain professionalism and composureAbility to accept constructive criticismAbility to appear for work on timeGraphic/web editing software experienceDirect: NoneIndirect: NoneIf you enjoy being part of a community dedicated to creating a memorable guest experience, we invite you to explore career opportunities with Sycuan and join our winning team!Apply NowCasino, 5485 Casino Way, El Cajon, California, United States of America
