Job Duties & Responsibilities

Develop and direct ongoing OPE brand tracking studies to monitor STIHL and competitor performance metrics over time (overall brand and battery brand).

Work with outside suppliers to implement studies and interpret findings for business development

Develop and direct purchase behavior and product usage research studies for key category segments and target audiences. Evaluate and interpret results to identify whitespace opportunity areas within our category for future product, sales and marketing growth

Collaborate with Germany market research colleagues regarding worldwide and USA end-user market research initiatives (Homeowner/Pro)

Collaborate with STIHL Inc. marketing agencies to develop and evaluate creative content via end-user research methodologies

Analyze and report on publicly available (secondary) data representing competitive OPE brand strategies

Identify key performance metrics and benchmarks for all end-user research initiatives and measure over time

Conduct primary research (Focus Group) studies that offer qualitative insights for new product development and existing product insights for North American R&D utilization

Manage annual marketing research budget and comply with all administrative duties therein

Apply marketing research understanding and data science for best possible commercial outcomes

All other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Specifications

Bachelor’s Degree - Marketing, Communications, Business Administration

5-7 years of related experience

Project management experience with multiple levels of complexity and duration.

Proven marketing research (quantitative/qualitative) capabilities.

Analytical skills and big picture vision.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Well-versed in public speaking to groups of 50+ people.
