What Skills You Need1 or more years of experience as a designer, visual communicator, or work in marketing communications (portfolio required at time of application)Ability to use Adobe Creative SuiteAbility to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office plus intranet and internet functionsEffective writing skills and experience, including grammatical usage, persuasive copy, and styleKnowledge of various communication skills such as design, photo and video editing, photography, audio visual, web, journalism, marketing, and advertisingHigh level of attention to detail and accuracy.Good interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.Skilled in planning and organizing.

Duties:Provides detailed communication plans to ensure key audiences receive key messages in regards to current projects, events, or changes impacting the business. Develops strategic communication content that impacts the knowledge and understanding of key projects, events or business changes. Works with multiple media such as video, design, print.Oversees project plans and key milestones for projects that are integral for the enterprise/division/unit and supporting the company's business objectives.Develops and manages a variety of communication tools to ensure key messages reach appropriate audiences (internal/external).Writes, develops and coordinates unit/division/function initiative messages (i.e., presentations, letters, etc.) for senior leadership for global distribution to ensure timely, accurate, aligned communication is executed in a way that meets Company and audience requirements.

Hybrid - 2-3 times per week in office

As a Design & Communications Specialist for John Deere Financial (JDF) in Johnston, IA, you will execute detailed communication plans and visual communications to ensure JDF audiences receive key messages regarding current initiatives, projects, events, or changes impacting the business.

In addition, you will:Oversee project plans and key milestones for projects that are integral for JDF and its business objectives.Develop, coordinate, and integrate communication activities at JDF including articles, videos, Yammer posts, website editing, presentations, etc.Develops and designs projects including layouts, mock-ups, and final filesRecord / design, develop, and execute JDF initiative messages (i.e., presentations, letters, global all-employee meetings, unit meetings, digital signage across JDF units, and videos) for unit and division distribution to ensure timely, accurate, and aligned communication is executed in a way that meets Company and audience requirements.Provide communication support to communication manager, unit and division management teams and departments, including creation and management of confidential documents and presentations.Plan and schedule various events such as communication meetings, site visits, and special requests.Continuously evaluate current design trends and implement process improvements for consistency in delivery and commonality within the regional and division communications teams.Visa sponsorship is NOT available for this position.

This position is open to a flexible working arrangement. A preferred arrangement is two to three days per week at our Johnston, IA location.
