The Sr. Associate Director of Business Development and Marketing is a key member of the leadership team for the Silicon Valley Executive Center (SVEC) in the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Sr. Associate Director has P&L responsibility in a complex academic context and is expected to have an entrepreneurial approach and a big picture strategic view of the opportunities for executive education. This includes developing resources, identifying potential markets for future programs, pursuing opportunities, closing deals, and building partnerships with a wide array of key internal and external stakeholders. The Sr. Associate Director has direct responsibility for the growth of the Center’s custom and partnered program portfolio and to support the growth of all other programs in the Center portfolio.
B. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIESDevelop and execute a comprehensive growth strategy that scales programs across the SVEC portfolio and leverages synergies to drive innovation of new programs.Utilize stakeholder input, client input, and labor market demand and industry trends to continually evaluate and refresh business development and sales strategies.Collaborate with other SVEC team members and the LSB marketing team to maximize market appeal for programs in the SVEC portfolio sourcing and to source new opportunities for revenue and impact growth.Lead research initiatives to identify new markets and customer needs for programs and institutes within the SVEC.Build relationships with prospective clients while continuing to cultivate and direct existing clients and alumni of programs to ensure a high volume of top-of-funnel opportunities for the SVEC.Manage metrics and reporting to track and measure quality and volume of lead pipeline as well as phases of programs in development through delivery.Lead all requests for proposals (RFPs), requests for information (RFIs) and requests for quotes (RFQs) processes on behalf of the SVEC along with correlating presentations and contract negotiations.Perform cost-benefit and needs analysis of existing/potential clients to meet their needs.Create sales contracts that adhere to SVEC, LSB, and university guidelines.Track sales revenue and other financial metrics, in collaboration with the Director of Finance and Administration.Launch customer relationship management (CRM) system and manage data across the SVEC portfolio leading efforts to strengthen CRM processes within the organization.Develop personnel to identify opportunities for fundraising and sponsorship of distinctive programs.Make decisions which are fully aligned with market identities of the SVEC and that drive the scale of Center revenue .Increase revenue, profitability, and impact to differentiate the Silicon Valley Executive Center’s corporate governance portfolio. Work with the Executive Director and Director of Finance and Administration to develop budgets and long term projections.Advance the University's mission and LSB’s strategic plan through the Center’s corporate, and international executive programs.Other duties as assigned

GENERAL GUIDELINESRecommends initiatives and implements changes to improve quality, programs, and services.Identifies and determines cause of problems; develops and presents recommendations for improvement of established processes and practices.Maintains contact with customers and solicits feedback for improved services.Maximizes productivity through use of appropriate tools; planned training and performance initiatives.Researches and develops resources that create timely and efficient workflow.Prepares progress reports; informs supervisor of project status; and deviation from goals. Ensures completeness, accuracy and timeliness of all operational functions.Prepares and submits reports as requested and required.Develops and implements guidelines to support the functions of the unit.
E. QUALIFICATIONS
