As part of BBC Global News, LLC, BBC Advertising sells commercial opportunities across BBC.com platforms, BBC Top Gear.com and BBC World News TV. The Account Manager supports the West Coast U.S. sales teams in the pre and post-sale process, and renewal efforts for digital and global linear advertising sales. Broadly speaking, they protect and grow the revenue generated by our sales team and encourage repeat business by providing a positive campaign experience for our clients. This role is defined by client facing account management.

A key contributor in all aspects of post-sale digital & global TV campaign management, the Account Manager:

  • Acts as the primary pre and post-sale contact for all direct deals both internally and externally with clients
  • Oversees the post-sales process: setting up campaigns upon receipt of IO and works closely across various teams such as Account Coordinators/Planners, Pricing, Inventory & Ad Operations, on campaign implementation, optimization, and technical troubleshooting
  • Ensure accuracy of advertising contracts that bridge from media planning team to live management systems
  • Interfaces daily with Sales, Sales Planning, Ad Operations, StoryWorks, Editorial, Product / Platform teams and Clients.
  • Collaborate with Sales on campaign management strategy across all client accounts
  • Provides a “knowledge bridge” between the digital team in Ad Operations, the sales teams, the research teams, and the StoryWorks content team for all post-sales activities

Main Responsibilities

Managing Digital & Global Linear Pre and Post-Sale

  • Support Account Executives in their maintenance of live advertising campaigns
  • Developing client facing proposals that reiterate goals, detail strategy and showcase BBC audience plans
  • Delivering end of campaign recaps outlining success and opportunities to scale performance/future growth
  • Analyzing BBC generated audience data, historical ad performance and industry trends to make informed client-facing recommendations and internal decisions
  • Alongside Pricing & Inventory, monitors inventory availability and campaign pacing to identify and address campaigns in need of optimization; relays these updates to clients
  • Acts as primary contact for live accounts with clients / agencies
  • Provides premium, white glove service to all advertising partners
  • Manage the digital process workflow from RFP to IO and liaise with key approval stakeholders in AdOps, Revenue Analytics, Legal, Ad Product, Research and Strategy
  • Assist with campaign kick off management
  • Coordinate handoff of digital campaigns to AdOps to ensure pre and post sales continuity
  • Field customer complaints and work with the appropriate department to resolve them
  • When Account Coordinator/Planner team members are OOO or when low bandwidth occurs, the Account Manager is responsible for coverage and resourcing assistance to support the Sale's team needs.

Launching and Implementing Campaigns

  • Work closely with Account Coordinators, Media Planners, and Ad Operations to set up and launch campaigns on time and in line with client expectations
  • Resolving campaign issues in a timely and productive manner and identifying and implementing process improvements in a stress-free manner
  • Communicate issues and suggested solutions to client / agency partners
  • Gather and report on advanced campaign metrics where applicable
  • Schedule and run periodic campaign status update meetings with Account Coordinators, Ad Ops and other stakeholders

Client/Agency Engagement

  • Establish relationships with contacts in clients/agencies to facilitate easy delivery of campaign and eventual renewal of a program
  • Follow up with clients / agencies and internal departments to gain feedback on campaigns and address any potential issues or concerns
  • Where appropriate liaise and manage direct contact with clients operating as a reseller in market
  • Provide white glove service to client / agency partners becoming a pivotal part of their BBC campaign experience
  • Leading weekly client calls, meetings, and quarterly reviews to highlight account success and note ongoing initiatives and objectives

Are you the right candidate?

  • Minimum 4+ years of working experience with 2+ years managing digital and linear content programs for advertisers or their agencies
  • Expertise in MS Excel and PowerPoint required
  • BA/BS Degree
  • Strong client communication and management skills
