The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center (CMS) seeks a Director of Digital Content to join the organization at an exciting time of institutional accomplishment and growth. CMS has a fully useable archive of more than 1,200 videos and is creating significant new video content throughout each season.

The Director of Digital Content is a member of the senior leadership team and a thought leader who will provide vision in setting the overall digital strategy for CMS in alignment with the organization’s strategic goals and will also maintain an overall aesthetic for all content consistent with the CMS brand. Additionally, the Director of Digital Content is responsible for keeping current with all advances in the digital field, for all applicable media outlets and trends, and for ensuring the broad visibility and distribution of CMS content as America’s leader in chamber music digital media.

The Director of Digital Content leads the digital media activities, including implementation and distribution of digital media, production of live streams of concerts, lectures, and master classes in the Rose Studio, capture of all concerts and educational events in Alice Tully Hall including editing and archiving performances, production of the CMS Radio Initiatives (including the CMS National Radio Series), and oversight of the creation of content for CMS social media channels. The Director of Digital Content reports to the Executive Director and manages two full-time staff members as well as numerous contractors.

The successful candidate will possess a demonstrated ability to plan for and produce a multitude of digital programs and projects over the course of a season, and will be able to assume responsibility for the following:

  • Digital Media Strategy across a wide range of channels
  • Live Streaming Production including managing staffing and technical aspects
  • Radio and Podcast Initiatives
  • Audio Recordings including production and distribution
  • Digital Media Infrastructure
  • Analysis of Digital Media Analytics

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years of related experience, including at least three years in a leadership role managing a complex department operating at a high level of excellence
  • Proven success managing multiple audio and video projects
  • Proven success creating and managing budgets
  • Proficient in basic HTML and CSS, as well as Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Significant knowledge of emerging media with a proven track record of implementing new technology
  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to work effectively with a broad range of constituents
  • Great team player
  • Strong problem-solving ability
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • High energy and enthusiasm
  • Attention to details
  • Familiarity with classical music repertoire a strong plus

This is an in-office position, working from the Lincoln Center campus.
